Well it would be end of era since they are acquired by Tesla . They are more focused on lithium battery manufacturering than existing product line which dispensing pump and automation equipment.

Well, if some of these shops have the time to teach someone the trade go for it, but lots of shops don't have the time to teach, so in my opinion if you want to learn this trade go to a vocational school if you can and learn there, and who knows maybe you'll want to start your own shop and specialize in on or to topics on a car cause it's impossible to know everything on a car.

Not meant to belittle the employees... we need to stand up for them as Weins Canada has such a bad reputation by 50-60% of their employees at ever level of job description/title. We need to make Canada a better place especially at any job... we cannot allow this to cintinue... 50-60% bad review from their own employees in Ontario anyway! :( I read Weins Canada’s reviews in google.. they are horrible to their employees and also I read how they basically ripped off a customer and really bad and were so insulting! I will never deal with and auto sales company or any business linked to them! They should not be in business if they treat their employees so low!! Hey what's your Policy on gay people in the Workplace?

Well, I called Employment Ontario and the answer was that I should go by myself and find somebody who'd like to hire me as an apprentice!! So calling EO didn't really help! :(

I have been working as a apprentice for over a year. I have learned nothing but got shit from my boss all the time. I will never recommend any person to become a auto apprentice. It sucks.

I am a current bicycle mechanic. I learn best with my hands and am quite mechanically inclined. Made a mistake of going to college and getting four year degree and no solid job after. Mechanics i feel is still my calling. What advice would you tell a mid 20s year old? start a path to be a journeyman? ASE certification? go back to school or a local JC that offers a trade program? Im doing ok now but know I want to do more.

This is amazing how this techs take new apprentices under their wings and teach them, and give them the apportunity to become a technician, not like other places,, how us apprentices are going to learn when there are auto shops that don't give us the apportunity to develope our skills and show them that we can, if they teach us and give us time, But is how it is, its Fucked up they expect us to know everything right out of school,,, i wish this shop were in NYC / sigh .

wow where the hell do you find a shop like that. every shop owner/supervisors, journeyman collectively say, apprentices are burdens and parasitic to the shop. takes journeyman away from his work to teach someone something they consider simple for a couple minutes, demonstrating, supervising and reviewing is too much for most journeyman, they all bitch and whine. shop owners get annoyed when their workers are "standing around" explaining things and teaching apprentices. whole trade is filled with pussies, all afraid of their boss because its hard for a journeyman too find work so they suck ass for as long as possible. thats atleast my experience with about 8 garages in my town plus talking with people from all over. ive also apprenticed and saw all of this first hand.

Contractors who hire apprentices can enjoy a mutual benefit with those apprentices. The apprentices receive some on the job training and experience while being able to earn a paycheck. Contractors enjoy some potential tax advantages.
