For Heritage week two men with communication dreams came together to inspire an historical recreation of an event from 1804 where signals were transmitted from Dublin to Galway.

Are there any copper or iron ore deposits nearby? These mountains are very reminiscent of ore processing waste. A dense and dried homogeneous mass of earth. Near my hometown there were such mountains, but modern ones. And these processes for the production of enriched ore are very ancient.
The colour is down to rust actually - parksaustralia.gov.au/uluru/discover/nature/geology/#:~:text=If%20you%20take%20the%20base,is%20the%20rock's%20original%20colour.
This will always be Ayers Rock to me.

Too bad the videographer didn't mic directly. The sound with the acoustics makes understanding the speakers almost unintelligible.
Footage is pretty one sided, you would never know this match was a draw.
Gosh, the oldest was 75, in today's society she looks 95. We have a president in the US much older than her. Look like all sincere and beautiful people, how poorer we are without them.

No disrespect to the fine people who participated in these programmes but why in the name of god did RTE have to subject the young people of Ireland to this on ‘prime time’ tv in the 1970s...the absolute definition of complete depression for kids who were already subjected to ongoing violence in schools by, in many cases deranged teachers. How did we survive??!
Boscos_box Well said. It was a great era. There was more respect’ for culture. The senior citizens had to get their turn too’ which they did. What will today’s youth remember’ when they get old.? They haven’t a clue what came before them. It will be sad if the only archive they will leave from the present time’ will be boy bands u2 and country and Irish. We owe a hell of a debt’ to the generation featured here. This show debuted when Ireland had only 1 television channel’ and there were no computers in Ireland.

why do these people insist on pronouncing the name maria wrongly? The name is pronounced 'mar-ee-a' not 'mar-ay-a'
Hi Aleks the original English pronunciation was mar-ay-a but the influence of american English introduced the mar-ee-a variant. In the musical Sound of Music it's pronounced Mar-ee-a but in Paint Your Wagon it's Mar-ay-a - which might have more to do with the song structure than anything else I don't know that one is any more correct than another but it's possible that when she was alive her name was mar-ay-a.
