Mystery fertilizer hopper?
I'm trying find out what type of fertilizer hopper base this is? It doesn't match or fit on any of the 3 side mount bases for my Farmall Super A. If you know what it is, or where I can get the base that it mounts to, please leave a comment

Thief in the Garden

We've been losing squash and zuchinni for a couple of weeks. We've actually lost more than we picked. I had set out rat traps and they had been triggered 4-5 times, but nothing caught. Then we had a cantaloupe eaten 3 nights in a row, and we didn't get any. After I dispatched the thief I found out that he had also taken 2 watermelons in the last 2 nights. His thieving days are over.
IH Duplex seed hopper is missing a piece

I think there is a missing piece that locks the IH Duplex seed hopper down to the drive base. I may use some 10ga wire to wire it down temporarily until I can either find or fabricate something.

I bought this Farmall 100 back back in May. The PO couldn't get it to run after repairing the governor. I pulled the #1 plug and got it to TDC and set the distributor so that the rotor button was pointing to the #1 plug wire connection on the distributor cap. It's not timed by the marks on the governor gear or cam gear.
SuperA first run

I finally got the Super A to crank after cleaning oxidation off of the condenser area, filing the points and changing the condenser. I had charged the battery for 24hrs. As you can see it died due to a dead battery. I jump started it with a 12v battery. Obviously, the generator and voltage regulator are not working. I worked on changing over to a 12v system today with an alternator.

Brown Anoles are invasive in Fl and take habitat from local Green Anoles. This one kept setting off my Harbor Freight Alarm at the bait station for rats.

Did you ever figure out what the double gears underneath were for?
No, I haven't figured it out yet. I did plant the garden last week though using the 7 tooth base and the corn plate. Apparently the corn seed was much smaller than the corn seed used years ago. I calculated it should have dropped every 14-15 inches and I've got corn coming up every 5-6 inches. I could see it dropping a lot of doubles and apparently triples. I'll be busy trying to thin it out, if the crows don't find it.
Two things to check : Re time the distributor, or the thrust bearing may be worn out. I had to do both to my super a.
Thanks for the reply. I'll keep that in mind next time I check the tractor. I suspect the carb and governor, but haven't had time to check into it.

Thanks Joey! I did a YT search for fertilizer hopper and watching old videos trying to figure out what it is. You're probably right. Just watched 2 of your old videos. I've got the belly planter mounted today and going to try to get the fert distributor tomorrow. I've had to put on and remove parts 3-4 times trying to get the chains, gears, etc to all align properly. LOL
My opinion is the same.... I don't have a parade tractor lol

Thanks, we are in a drought here in lower Al. I don't think it's rained in a month. I am using some 1 1/4" PVC pipe and flooding the furrows twice a week. It just started tasseling and forming ears in the last few days.
@@customcutter100 we've been doing some furrow irrigating ourselves. It works pretty good.

Yeah, I'm not sure if it's the carb, or maybe the governor needs some tweaking. It settles down under a load, but just idling or driving it can be pretty rough. I got the Super A running tonight. I think the 6v battery is bad. Left it on the charger, and going to check it in the AM.
I was using my scopecam to try and capture video of the woodpecker. NO I WASN'T TRYING TO SHOOT IT!!! I haven't seen one in this area in over 50 years. You can see part of the head at about 18 seconds. I tried to get a better view, but he flew off when I stepped to clear a branch out of the way.
What did you get with? Looks like it works well? Bb gun?
I shot a rat at about 25yds. It is mounted on an FX Wildcat MK I .22 cal shooting CPHP at 932 fps. The build is in the Gateway to Airguns forum in the Machining section. I can post a link if you can't find it.
