Are you really in band if you’ve never played a piece from mackey
I played this in fifth grade cause we’re goated
Played this for my freshman highschool band.
That snare hit every shot that’s honestly impressive
Noice
I’m currently playing this in an adult community band and we only sound about this good. Y’all are amazing!
My chamber orchestra played this at MPA.
Yahushuwah' s thrillah's entertainment puposes
me and my orchestra class are working on this song! so excited to hear it! they all sound amazing.
Don't want to toot my horn (haha get it?) but my band director said that we could play this piece even tho were are his second year interemediate players, not even our honor and advanced band who were our 3rd and 4th year could play it.
Bravo! Greg, I didn’t know you performed this almost 5 years ago. No one performs this piece of mine. Thanks so much!
oh my god this is magical:0
I’m in high school and I want to learn this piece but I’ve never played four mallet before should I start with easier songs first or just go for it
Build up some chops for inner mallet runs and try to work up individual mallet control. Beyond that this piece has alot of wide grip chords at the low end of a 5 octave marimba so work on that as well. Outside of technique the rest of the complexities are mainly rhythmic. Its a great piece to play, it may take some working up to but you can do it!
the later parts of this piece are incredibly difficult, I would recommend developing your technique significantly before trying to learn the piece, at least in its entirety. Some of the earlier sections might be fun to look at though.
@@joeyjojojoey4095 okay I’ll keep that in minf
@@sheldenberry505 I will thanks
I made all region and we played this we had only like 2 days to learn this piece
5:16 1st and second violins locking in 💀
hmm... why so slow? also i can barely hear brass
rn I’m in orchestra learning this piece and it’s hard for me
Me to😭
Not to be rude or anything- But why is the tempo so slow?!?
This is how fast it goes it’s the normal version
@@Gum-ball908i dont think so-
@@FBI_378 for me it is
@@FBI_378 I play this in band. This is the real tempo 🙃
@@Kennedy-ob1yx nuh uh
Cool
Thanks so much for sharing this I’ve been trying to find both of these songs to listen to as I am playing them for my school!
easily the best song we ever played in our school.
Guys I’m playing this piece in my school orchestra and its really making me question my life choices so slayyy 😁😁
Im a tenor saxophone and we’re playing this next week
bro i can’t even hear the cello part
Get your ears checked out then💀💀
*happy 1st chair violist noises*
Wow!
All I'm going to say is...WOW!! Gary P. Gilroy has always been an early favorite marching band composer for my hometown's marching band, but I haven't heard too much of Mr. Gilroy's concert music. I just listened to the official audio for this piece, and then I stumbled across this video, let alone it being the world premiere! Dr. deAlbuquerque may be one of the greatest female conductors I have ever seen! This ensemble went over the top with the performance, so a huge bravo to this whole ensemble and Dr. deAlbuquerque for premiering it!!! Oh, and I can't forget the massive applause at the end! :)
I'm very happy to play the best part in this, the bass.
Viola part tho
How are there so many people in a Jr. High concert band????
It's an honor band.
I played this song for my orchestra concert i loved it and it sounded so cool
I did rolling thunder in middle school 😎
"I John Brown am now quite certain that the crimes of this guilty land will never be purged away, but with Blood. I had... vainly flattered myself that without very much bloodshed, it might be done." -John Brown (final words) (Turkish Translation) "Ben, John Brown olarak şu an oldukça eminim ki bu suçlu diyarların suçları kan dışında hiçbir şeyle silinemeyecektir. Kendimi bunun fazla kan dökülmeden yapılabileceğine inandırarak fazla gururlandırmıştım..." -John Brown (Son Sözleri)
my band is better.
Nobody asked
Real
Did anybody ask?

The mallet parts for the piece made me want to cry man, cool piece but don't make me sight read this thing ever again

@@Korean_Nerd that's what it says, it's not entirely true

@@Korean_Nerd Bro, I know, I'm just saying it's not for 1st graders
So I know most probably know this but the Japanese lullaby is actually by Larry Clark using the pen name keiko Yamada so that it sounded more aisain and put on this face, it is really controversial to the music industry
I've been to everything from U2 to Slayer, Rage Against the Machine,,, but Tchaikovsky's violin concert live is the greatest music experience in my 49 years ❤❤❤ Many thanks to the San Francisco Youth Symphony Orchestra's guest performance in Odense Denmark.. 6:43 if you could only feel what I felt there 🛐❤🎻🎼😍
