Well he missed a lot. Been in Boise 50 years. Done done done. Wish I would have left years ago. People are nice but it helps if your a myoptic white lemming. This state is behind the times and cant ever be ahead of the curve on anything. Your wages will be low as its a right to work state. Your property taxes and other taxes will be high. Good luck buying a home for 500,000 on 15 dollars an hour. Companies like moving here because tax payers subsidize them with huge tax breaks power subsidies and they dont have to pay their workers provide benefits or have employee rights. Mormons every where and they take care of their own. I personally have seen mormon owned business pay another mormon with no experience more than other longterm capible employees just because their a mormon. So yes discrimination on religion is another issue. Lets talk education. Keep em dumb should be our state moto. BSU is over priced CWI over priced. There is no real community college here. Public education gets very little money and teachers are pverloaded with kids in their classes. Now we got these morons making it even harder on our teachers thinking a school lesson on the cocil war is critical race therory that no schools teach and turning their already gay ass kid gayer. Its frustrating I guess im just ranting. Want to move here go ahead but dont belive all the hype.

Been here 3.5 yrs, it sucks here for many reasons. Traffic, no jobs, not much to do, heavy college town so most jobs are taken by the college students, cost of living is high and wages are low, winters are long and boring, Boise is turning blue.

I think places like south Dakota and some others do not have 401K and IRA taxes. That is a large amount of taxes. I wish Idaho would do this. But may be why people leaving as to cost of living section.

Are Idaho people hostile to Californians who move to Idaho. As an adult, that's a problem I can handle, but I don't want my young granddaughter (who we adopted) to be bullied in school because she's from California.

Great video. Have wanted to live in Boise for nearly 20 years but stayed in L.A. to be around elderly parents but can't take another day here. When I visited Boise, it immediately took me back to my childhood as that's how it used to be here too. So sad what it has become. I never had a family of my own, but I definitely support the lifestyle and community Idaho has embraced.

Im calling you out on the racism... as a mixed-race person... don't believe a word of that friendly, non racism stuff. There are major issues. I think the Treasure Valley wins the road rage epidemic. As a person who is ok with letting the aggresor get their way (because it isn't worth it), there is a plethora of angry, aggressive drivers who are emotionally taxed by the shortsighted road planning that was not constructed with growth in mind. He did not mention the terrible pollution and heat. Fire season is like 2 months of dense smog and scorching temperatures. The amount of 100+ days has been increasing yearly and makes all those great outdoor activities nearly impossible. We bought a home in feb 2020 at the like last possible second of dumb luck, home purchasing. Tbh, we got a beautiful place in an older, established and well known subdivion with green belt access, but at the time, as newlyweds, we couldn't afford land. We are in the "golden handcuffs" scenario now : even if we wanted to move, we couldn't afford to sell . Literal dumpster homes are selling for 400k+. We love our home so we end up just hanging out here, but as someone who grew up in Boise, despite this guy's crazy "idaho is the perfect state so pay me" pitch. Come get a bnb for a week or so and just translate what a normal schedule would be for you. Go to the grocery stores for price comparisons, taste the water, and look at rush hour traffic. Just give it a week as a trial so you get a better insight on your personal daily. There are many pros and cons. It's not an easy place to describe. But, best wishes to us all during these difficult tìmes.

Boise can be a good choice. Just be aware. Very hot in summer. Very cold in winter. I, also think your cost estimates are off. A decent 1 bedroom in Boise is $1,600. Electric bill in Kuna in summer can be $600-700 per month. No issues with restuarants.

Currently working in California's silicon valley and having watch it's growth over the last 35+ years. If the Treasure Valley is expecting growth in the tech industry, I hope the locals will understand there will be more opportunities for everyone. The hospitality, recreational, housing, and school trades will have significant draw for hiring. There will be major cultural and societal changes, my concerns is the apprehension of locals not able or willing to accept these changes. Diversity is a hard pill to swallow for some. Always appreciate the insights you guys offer.

I'm waiting to see if ranked choice voting and open primaries ballot measures pass in Idaho. If they do, I'm not going to make the move. Ranked choice voting and open primaries are so terrible. Grew up in rural idaho as a kid all I ever wanted to do was get out of here left for a long time and came back 2020 boise is not idaho to me i live a hour away and might go to boise 4 times a year idaho what makes idaho a great place to live is the people and the values of said people but give me farm land idaho any day of the week just sad to see locals that cant afford a home were they grew up
