Anakin was taken away from his mother, told to not have emotional attachments, told that he was the chosen one, but that the jedi didn't trust him. Padme was born into royalty, queen from a very young age with all the burdens of responsibility, never seen with family or friends except for a few short scenes that were deleted, always having to maintain professionalism. That's what makes these scenes so great. They were both chosen for their roles, they didn't choose themselves. Didn't choose, were chosen. They were basically thrown into political struggles, war etc from a very young age and were both extremely lonely people. This love story is so moving because of how tragic it is, and it's in AOTC that you first realize how vulnerable they both are as human beings. Vastly underrated scenes and misunderstood message, and now that it's 2024 with SoMe and an isolating pandemic behind us it's even more relevant than it was back then.

7:26 is an incredibly important event. Anakin’s every fiber of his identity is in serious crisis. A falling stone from that point. If I were Padme I would be shocked. Anakin here admits that he is officially off the Jedi path, and it’s about to turn but still fighting. Serious internal conflict within his soul but as a clinical psychologyst, if ever something similar comes from my patients, this should be more than troubling. Basically it is a temptation to declare that committing a crime is about to happen. In this point, Lucas also beautifully showed that now it’s too late for Anakin. He already made the painful decision but it’s hard to face it or swallow it even for him. Hence the line: “I feel lost”.

Idk why the new Disney content can’t seem to get anything right even down to the color of the lightsaber blades as the original trilogy and the prequels had this beautiful sky blue shade for Anakin and Kenobi’s sabers yet they insist on changing it to the horribly fake looking navy blue
