    *Thanks a lot for sharing your knowhow and creating this video! I think that QOwnNotes is useful if someone works in a bubble, but as soon as one must share nodes / trees in the notes, it gets very complicated because one must setup OwnCloud / NextCloud and probably has to start managing users in OwnCloud / NextCloud. And it's probably not possible to offer just read-only access to notes, share it to anonymous and pretty sure, nobody can just read shared notes in a browser. Everyone must watch and study 20 minutes long videos, to just get up and running.*

    so I been playing around with this and thought about a theory. if you have a server/s laying around and don't want to expose your IP could you do a proxy server on DO then set-up the auth and nb on your home lab? Apply NB agents on all the servers so that they can talk to them like your own private cloud. then the only server on DO is the proxy so you can have a public address.

    • @AwesomeOpenSource
      @AwesomeOpenSource Před 3 dny

      100%. You can set this up in a ton of different ways, I'm just showing one way to give the basics. But, absolutely set it up how you feel it best works.

    • @izunagi9064
      @izunagi9064 Před 3 dny

      Thinking about it more there may be some ssl problem with netbird and auth so probably best that they be in a cloud host area with the proxy but once netbird is up you could host other servers locally with netbird agents.

I have local DNS srver, NPM and Authentik all installed funtional no issues. I have wildcard certificate which includes all the DNS and ip address that I have while gnerating it. The websites and services are all acceptable with ssl from .intra domains and from IPs with the certificate no issues. Once I add the NPM confirm from Authentik I get the error and NPM for the app added rurns red offline and when I hover on top it says nginx:[emerg] ''map' directive is not allowed here in /data/nginx/proxy_host/6.conf:56 nginx: configuration file /etc/nginx/nginx.conf test failed Anybody have any ideas what's going one and how to solve it. The whole point is I'm just learing and it would be nice if someone could share a video of a local setup with local DNS server. It's a good lab to bypass all controll and kepp everthing local.

    as far as i can see they want $60 a year to enable the button to play back at more than 1x speed. Someone should do a video on how shinobi became a cash grab. I can see paying for a lot of things (like object or even motion detection). but holy crap ill screen record my grid streamed through vlc before i pay someone for the ability to playback a video at 2x speed in 2024. If shinobi nvr cant show me basic required functions work with out my wallet theres no reason to belive they will with. Or that more advanced things work. For all i know it helps hide the fact that the video drops 10 min into the 15 min file. It takes a lot to get cameras stable and not burning up all your cpu. Sort of enrages me that i put all that effort to maybe have some stability but after hrs of tinkering i find shinobi nvr has become a cash grab masqurading as open source. kinda gross. off to delete the container.

      @AwesomeOpenSource Any idea why my zabbix server agent config file keeps resetting itself everytime the zabbix vm reboots? I have to keep going and setting the source ip and serverips every time it reboots.

      Map that folder as a volume. Add it to the agent compose section. I saw the same thing after i released the video. Need to add it to my show notes. But that will be the easiest fix. Once mapped, your settings will persist.

      It's a no-name brand from Amazon. Here's the link (not an affiliate link) www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07P8M7N9F/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

      @@AwesomeOpenSource Thanks Brian. What got my attention is that you can actually read the display. The "Killawatt" displays suck.

    Excellent video, I put my Authelia to the test with it, but to make it part of my structure I need to resolve some situations. I can't get the NOVNC CONSOLE inside PROXMOX to work with NPM + Authelia... it always says connection. Has anyone found a solution they can share?

    Aren't you afraid of having Vaultwarden accessible from the outside? I've read several posts on the web about not doing that. What's your opinion?

      Dashy - It's a great little dashboard - and can do a lot more than I show most of the time. Here's the write up on it, and my video is in the write up. wiki.opensourceisawesome.com/books/self-hosted-dashboards/page/dashy-powerful-informative-configurable-self-hosting-dashboard
