I love that you’re doing this experiment. I’m only 4 minutes in… just have to say I love that Aptera’s nose/lights look friendly to the car in front of it and I love that the yoke looks friendly to the driver. Efficiency is a community-minded, friendly value. There are plenty of aggressive, dominating, competitive vehicles out there. I’m glad Aptera is carving its own niche.

In-N-Out is the best! Everything is made fresh. I ❤ their fries. When you come to CA next, you have to try them. They tend to be near the freeway, but lines can be very long during lunch/dinner rush. Great update!

@dtl well the LE edition is supposed to be AWD, so hope it isn't FWD. Thats about the biggest issue I have right now. Other things I'm wanting to hear about is the Off road wheel covers and the tent. So the alst live stream sounds like the OpenPilot will be available for LE? or did I miss that? WRT IPO... he said IPO to come out when the roll out of the first vehicles, but then later said 1-2 years.. wish we had better clarity

IWM is what I like most about this car. They should fire the person that wants to do away with it and hire someone that can deliver on IWM

Funny recap guys! Thanks for your feedback. You two are good examples of regular customers that don't really care too much how it works, but still are excited about what the Aptera can do for you both (being a very efficient, comfortable, and cool looking EV). And that is a solid demographic on the buyers that will take the Aptera from a relatively small, early adopter market, to an EV that many people would recommend to a family member, where it is a good fit for them. I was happy to see the livestream, and I liked the format. Overall it was encouraging to me. Looking like there is a good chance that Aptera production will start up before this time next year.

You guys aren't missing anything with In-N-Out. I never understood the cult following for that place. It's OK, but nothing amazing. Also, I just saw at our local McDonalds that a regular burger is now $3.50!!!

I've been seeing this pop up on my Facebook feed for the last few weeks and found it very interesting. Please do a review of it when you get it. I would like to learn how well it works in practice. I'm also in Michigan, but live in an apartment that doesn't offer a place to charge. Not being able to charge at home puts a real damper on the thought of owning an EV. I've been following Aptera, Lightyear, and the Sono Sion, but only Aptera is still in the solar vehicle game. But we get a lot less sun here than California, so I've been wondering just how practical solar charging will be here. Now there's this solar charger that could potentially work for any car with a roof rack. If this product can get half of the potential 30 miles per day, it might still be worth it. I'm excited to learn more. Please keep us informed about it. Thanks!

I will never buy a vehicle from a car maker that makes it difficult for me to repair. Good for Aptera to acknowledge this important issue!

The whole drivetrain mystery seems to have everyone on the edge of their seats. Understandably. I'm willing to trust Chris M's comments that "You're going to love when we make the announcement." and "I would have 0 concerns, as someone with the information in hand. I'm actually very excited about it." and not panic. I am really hoping that they still have a way to pull off AWD with the Launch Edition, but at this point I'm not too optimistic about this, based on everything that was said yesterday. But, okay, Aptera... surprise me!

In and Out should consider sponsoring Aptera after that plug 😉

I think it is pretty important that the motors used by Aptera, in a perfect world, would be made by Aptera. The terms of the original contract with Elaphe called on Aptera to purchase the first 20,000 from Elaphe and then there would be some sort of joint venture where manufacturing was to be moved stateside. I think the 'deal' just evolved largely because Aptera doesn't want the 'standard' Elaphe M-700 motor; rather they put more effort into the engineering and came up with an alternate winding method ... that lowered power just a bit but increased efficiency. MY GUESS is that the design differences from the Elaphe wheel and the fact Elaphe doesn't want to actually manufacture the "Aptera" custom motor and can't sell them the M-700 wheel simply because it is not 'efficient enough' doesn't do much for Elaphe and their marketing. The bottom line is the Aptera motor with its special winding won't be a product in the Elaphe product line and some other entity - maybe Aptera-Italia or something with the middle east funds - will be the company making the already certified and tested design of this new Aptera motor. The secrecy is because of the separation of Elaphe's brand from Aptera's and they are showmen enough - and they need something special for the big money - to take this opportunity to make a wonderful introduction of the new Aptera motor. Another reason for the separation is that making electric motors is not rocket science. One of the more expensive processes is making whatever windings are needed and obviously the special windings on the Aptera motor may require unique tools and equipment meaning economically, it makes sense to set up a specific facility. Heck, who knows they may have some kind of patent protection on the 'special' Aptera motor ... and there is no rule, for instance, that Elaphe can't be a partner or licensor of their IP. Bottom line, I'll burst with pride when Aptera announces their 'factory' for the production of the motors in a joint venture with CPC, the Italian state and Elaphe for a plant to mfg the Aptera E1P motor (Efficiency- first principle) in Italy???

Thanks for confirming my confusion & disappointment re: drivetrain [DT] (and US-Capital funding ambiguity). Elaphe left-out of partner slide in prior June 7 webinar where also disclosed drive-train (DT) 100% sourced…. explanation coming "within a couple weeks". Aptera knew then, in-wheel motors are "for the future" not LE. The ‘explanation’ today was equally evasive, ending with… "That’s all we can say right now everybody unfortunately." [awkwardly laughter] Wrong time for lack of candor & transparency while pleading (& aggressively advertising) for $$ before close of CF in 2 days. Withholding a large additional investment as intended but still hoping for Aptera’s success.

GoSun just started selling shares thru Start Engine, Crowd Funding. I filled out all necessary information to allow me to buy shares but unfortunately my Investment zpurchase did not go thru. I received an email from Stsrt Engine Support, advising me that as a Canadian I wS allowed to invest in GoSun. They explained that the Regulatory Bodies are different and that until further notice, Canadians are not allowed to Invest. Well that was disappointing and asked why other Crowd Funding Companies had no problems allowing Canadian Investors to invest in companies such as Aptera.
