A lot of people prefer mechanical disc brakes and for the price you pay the Avid mechanical callipers deliver the most. They are extremely easy to set up and maintain, which is what most people are looking for and combined with compressionless cable housing offer more than enough braking power. We're more than happy to set up the bike with hydraulic brakes though,...whatever the customer wants :)

Hi, thanks! This was a custom color from Stanton... no idea what it's called. We basically sent them a photo of one of the bikes from their Instagram that had the same combination and told them that's what we want :)

In our experience most of the complete builds from Surly are just not worth it... at least in Europe where the price is significantly higher. That's also one of the reasons why we build most of them from scratch as the frames are really good.

Thanks Jeffrey! This bike has been through a lot already and it has never developed any kind of creaking. We’ve also built one that’s not a single speed and no problems there whatsoever as well! In our experience these kind of sliding dropouts are the only ones that actually work well for single speeds as they don’t slide back and forth once they are tightened. We highly recommend the El Jefe, it’s an amazing bike with great manufacture quality 👌🏻

Thanks! The 27" wheels would make the bottom bracket quite low and it could cause you to hit the ground with pedals easily so we wouldn't suggest it... you might want to look into a Esker Hayduke for 27" wheels

Thanks! We are running the cable through the yoke, to eliminate any chance of it rubbing on the tyre.

That took a bit of brainstorming :) it's a DIY mount made out of a Pelago front rack fork mount that we shortened and modified a bit, and then put the standard light mount on it. The Salsa Fargo fork only has a mounting point at the rear of the fork and that was the only way to mount the light in this position...

@@loosecycles7233 has salsa fork steering hole under the crown? I used multiple fork anchor and gopro mount-top cap for this

We managed to find a magic gear ratio :)

The handlebar is Salsa Cowbell and the stem is from TiTo

I asked a million questions and got nothing but solid answers. Ordered a Big Iron and its arriving In less than 2 weeks. Sorry you had problems but I, and all the other owners I've talked to, have had nothing but good experiences with them so far.

That's the BLB Big Smoke handlebar... we absolutely love it!
