Que ne pas écrire, pour ce musicien hors du commun pour cet instrument, car il n'y en a pas beaucoup.. Guy Touvron, presque égal à Maurice André... Je me rappelle toujours de son passage dans l'émission de Jacques Chancel... "Le Grand Echiquier"... un pur bonheur de l'écouter et aussi de le voir, car il était si rare en France, pour des concerts.

Jean Pierre de Vent: In this piece there are no parts requiring double tonguing. It is impressive the flowless sound, equal in all register and the perfetto. attack of every single note. Ole is a monster. Perfect style, beautyful sound perfect pitch .... Astonishing.
He takes a big deep breath at the beginning and this surprised me since I tend to think it's better to take as little air as possible in playing the piccolo. I also notice (?) he plays it all single tongued which is impressive.
In my opinion he is not only a gifted player but mostly a musician and a person with behavioral norms that only few people can meet this kind of criteria.
Another example of why my public US education is lacking, I wish that there were English subtitles.

It's from Giambattista Martine (1706-1784) Arr Michel Rondeau Go to www.erikveldkamp.com Type Martine in "search here" and you got two transcriptions for this trumpet part

comment ne pas apprécier cet homme , merveilleux musicien qui a porté très haut les valeurs trop méconnues de la trompette . Grace à lui cet instrument a trouvé sa place dans la hiérarchie instrumentale . Maurice André force le respect et l'admiration . Quel interprète !
