Tate Indoor Percussion Ensemble 2005 show entitled "Fear No Evil".
I really like this show. It might be one of if not my favroite indoor percussion show for some reason
damn the electronics in this show are fucking awful 💀💀💀💀💀☠☠☠☠💀
still trying to decide if this show is good or nor
This show is so damn unique visually and musically. Ive seen many shows both WGI and my State winter event (MPA/Minnesota Percussion Association),many that are sensitive in some way but also brings a unique idea. Now ive never seen this myself in person bc i was never born early to see this, but i find it absolutely fasinating compared to many other shows ive seen. Many are great including this one, and i love experiencing shows like this(not the topic itself but the general performance) and the ideas instructors/composers create. Now i get that with a sensitive topic like this, there are and always will be mixed reactions. And i feel like that goes for any performance. If i, as a battery or frontline member performed smth like this, my only thoughts will be -did i play as written? (Better or worse or neutral) -did i act accordingly in show?(did my actions show what im performing?) -did I play my role and sell the show to the audience and judges?(did what i play and act, match the environment, the music, the emotiond, etc?) This by far may be one of my favorite shows of all no matter how insensitive
absolutely the greatest show of all time. my favorite part is when carolina thunder said "it's thunderin' time!" and thundered all over everyone!
you're laughing... millions of people were thundered on and your laughing...
This show is the reason why my drum instructor specifically told us to keep our fingers apart when doing our dramatic reaches this IPE season
I remember watching this live at finals this year. You could hear a pin drop after the last note was played.
The guy “dying” at the beginning taught me how to hold my sticks correctly last year
A gross and shallow attempt at being provocative.
they had ZERO sponsors the following season.
God, I’m cringing so hard! I miss colorguard so much but we were so off at times 🙇🏽♀️ these definitely were the best times though. I can’t believe I stumbled across this.
Keep Rothschild Zionism out of Dci.
My drum tech in high school marched quads this year. He told us they burned the uniforms and got in serious trouble after. Can't really blame them though.
Im in High school pit and your front ensemble sucks.
mean but true my high school one is good and well funded better funded then them
I heard about this back in High School (graduated in 2010). Apparently one of the judges was Jewish
I wonder what the name of the pieces are?

Whats the story behind this concept?

20 years ago today. Wow....
its acualtly 22 tyerrs ago
nowadays if people did this they would get 78 class action law suits
I didn’t understand this one. You did implement something new to the drum line, and that’s the cymbal line. You also got the full-on color guard, and used both of those things consistently the next year. Good job. Still a shame you guys folded.
did you see their 2021 show?
bert was the cymbal teacher at wake forest independent when I was in that in like 2012 lol
Ok I have to be honest here, this is the most fun-to-watch indoor drumline show I’ve seen. Great job, Carolina Thunder.
this show was different
Unique in some way

Yep
I find it sad that people kind of give this show crap. My current instructor was one of the tenor players that year. I thought the concept was really good, even though the music needed some work. It's a risky move doing a show like this in WGI, but I think it was important. If you're criticizing it about the theme of the show, you really don't have an argument against it. It took guts to even put it into production, plus the fact that you can hear members of the audience crying after it shows just how intense it was. Have a nice day.
i mean can you blame people though i mean wgi is too post to be fun an enjoyable for people not a holocausts story do i think it was a great story yeah but honestly its the wrong place to talk about it
Dartmouth 2017?
loved performing that show, and i miss the group
Match grip should be in a class of their own. That's bullshit how they include them in the classes with the ones that play traditional.

Hehe. I was the girl in the red dress. It was interesting to act out being shot and my mother hated that part of the program when the director proposed it. I understand why she was so reserved about it, being my mother and all. It's pretty startling to see your own child look like she was shot and killed. Also, my dad built the fences and lights for the set. He's pretty handy with a saw and hammer. And for those of you who don't think this show is appropriate, then well, maybe you should go and look at other videos instead. We didn't do this show to make people feel good and all happy with rainbows and butterflies. Nope. We did this because we were expressing artistic freedom and raw emotional expression. If you can't appreciate art in its truest and rawest form, then I don't want to associate with you. Go away.
I have a question. What exactly are you reading off or reciting on the mic? Sorry im dumb lol
So CZcams gonna delete my comments now
At the end i heard mount pleasant so what school did this P.S love it❤💖💕💕, so moving
Jenese Davis bruh they literally say the name clear as day at the beginning of the video
Kinda fucked ngl
This was their final's show. In prelims and semi's the SS never shot the woman. The reaction in the crowd was mixed. I gave them a standing ovation, but the 70+ year old woman next to me started to cry. The book might have been dirty, but the General Effect was more than proficient and regardless of how people reacted to it, one thing is for certain - At the conclusion of each performance, the crowed was left speechless for 5-10 seconds. This was one of the most moving shows I have ever witnessed. Fun fact - At retreat, the SS officer kept in character and shook off the WGI official who directed him to fall in rank with his unit. He formed his own column and kept up the appearance of an SS officer.
I'm not sure if I should click the "Like" button or not...
Just because the topic makes you uncomfortable does not mean that this show is "messed up" by any means. What is the purpose of shows? What is the purpose of this activity? If it is anything other than to educate, further the activity, and bring to light serious issues and concepts, then it would be a complete failure. The purpose, of course is everything I've listed. This was seriously ahead of its time. Do I find it tasteless? Not in the least. Important issues brought to light...
indoor is meant to bring joy as a fun show and hobby this was just uncomfortable there is a place and time to talk about this a wgi competition is not the place no joy was here thats what the hobby is about was it inappropriate yes wrong place
@@southernrailwayfan1338 its not always to bring joy. Its a story and a message
@@andystein4879 well yeah i agree but a bit over kill
that's stupid. people watch do the activity for the joy of playing and watching percussion performances not to watch theatrical performances
Two comments: For those of you who complain about what the show is about... does that mean you have issues of plays on this topic? And any other production? Is that ok? And then, those who complain about the pit's music "not making sense" and blah blah. Do some research. Music was written by Karel Husa. Piece called "Music for Prague". Husa was a big "warm-time" composer (along with Varez, Stockhausen (who was a prison in a concentration camp)). So it actually makes complete sense to use this.
Call me stupid, but who’s Karel Husa? I believe you in saying there’s reason behind the strange music, but I just don’t know much about the Holocaust
There can be art about the Holocaust that isn’t problematic. This is not that though. Using Quartet for the End of Time is a terrible choice given Messiaen’s anti-Semitic remarks. Having the officer sieg heil towards the audience and shout nonsense in German is a silly and shallow attempt at being provocative. Having the whole line shout the Christian slogan “the Lord is my Shepard…” is a terrible decision when the content of your show is a largely Christian German population committing genocide against Jewish people. Shooting the names of random Holocaust victims throughout is gross. There’s just nothing good about the content of this production.
Sad part is that they actually won
Yun Genei Jin whats sad about id say they earned
@@zxcvbnmasdfghjkl9439its really sad because they were not as good as other groups the judge at finals was Jewish which you cant blame the judge for giving a high score
Everyone at Tate now praises this show.
The judges refused to judge the show. One of the quotes was "too intense"
WuhDuhFuxUp false. Was 4th at World Class Finals.

This was Dunwoody indeed
Happy times
Carolina Thunder wasn't about making the judges like them. They weren't about "winning" show concepts. They made you think about things no matter how uncomfortable it made you. I bet they didn't even listen to the judges comments. They did the show the way they wanted it. If you liked it, great. If not, too bad. One way or another you would always remember this show even if you didn't "get it."
was this dunwoody?
Haha banned from WGI
