Good demo, thank you! Great idea to submerge the whole stone in water. You need to start at an angle when drilling stone or glass so the drill bit does not skip. Holding it down firmly does not prevent skipping but angled start does.
Thank you so much I’m about to start for the first time in my life making sculptures from Seaglass and your tutorial was all I needed to get me on my way
I am having no luck drilling through my seaglass , what is the best drill bit to use please ? i have bought countless diamond tipped bits but still takes well over 30 minutes to get through
Thank you very much. What caution should we have since we are drilling with an electrical device adn using water...is there any precautions or specific guidelines for this? Thank you very much.
I bought a 2050 at first and while I can drill holes, it takes much longer than Linda did in this video. I'll probably buy the 3000 at some point and would recommend you go straight for that.
Hi, I use a Dremel drill but there are lots of other makes out there of small hobby type drills. You need to use a diamond tipped drill bit and I generally use 1mm or 1.5 mm
Hi there, please can you tell me we’re you get your drill bits from, looking on eBay, for diamond tipped drill bits, and nearly everyone of them are all from China, I’m sure they will sell them all in b&q. Thanks Alan 👍
Hi Alan, to be honest I have bought mine from China and they take a while to arrive. But you need diamond tipped drill bits and I use 1mm or 1.5mm. Hope this helps.

I’m in Newfoundland. Where did you get your bit. I’m unable to find. Tnx. Bonnie
I bought them on ebay, they were shipped from China I think so they took a while, but they work fine.
I bought some on Amazon. They work fine but very slow. Not fast like yours. I use a drill press. Maybe it’s the speed. Tnx
I have problems with the drill bit shooting back in to the drill. I maybe have the water too deep too.
Thank You Ms McDonald! RI USA

My luck, the drill bit would slip off the glass & into my finger!
Thanks for the clear, detailed instructions.

I use a twist diamond-coated type bit Some types of glass are harder to drill than others but it should only take a few minutes.
how do you prevent the drill slipping and injuring your fingers especially with very small pieces of glass?
That's my fear!
Straightforward with no excess instructions, thankyou, much appreciated.
Hi Linda, what drill bits do you use? I got diamond tipped drill bits, but they look more like arrowheads.
When the video was newer, she replied to this question and said she ordered them from eBay. They came from China but that's all she remembers.
Thank you for sharing

How fascinating to watch and listen! Lovely frosted piece, it must’ve made a fine bit of jewelry…

Linda, thank you for the video. Is a Dremel 2050-15 sufficient to drill beach glass or a 3000 is needed? Thank you.
I bought a 2050 at first and while I can drill holes, it takes much longer than Linda did in this video. I'll probably buy the 3000 at some point and would recommend you go straight for that.
That is super helpful thanks you
What tip are you using to drill with? Can you show a better pic of it please.
