I've cut some hard magnisite from soldiers Delight. The stuff was beautiful with pure white magnesitespinkled with pale green patches of serpentine.

I want to own a nice piece of calcite/flourite from there.

I mined at this mine and 11 others in the 80's. Maine is full of minerals. In Oxford Country where most, if not all, of the mines are located, there are around 1,500 different types of minerals. No matter where you go, you will find something!

When I was 8 years old one day an aunt stopped by with a box of crystals . the crystals were of all different colors, shapes and sizes. She told my brothers and me that each of us could pick out a crystal and keep it. I picked a purple one and immediately upon picking it up IT BEGAN TO GLOW ! THEN A PURPLE SPHERE OF LIGHT APPEARED IN THE AIR ABOVE THE CRYSTAL ! When my aunt saw this she quickly grabbed back all the crystals and left. Despite having left with the purple crystal the purple sphere of light remained stationary in the air for quite a while before fading out ! When I was a teenager I asked my mom what she (aunt) did with them. She told me that she gave them to a monastery . In December of 2019 a guy I worked with told me that he went to a monastery for a Christmas service. He said that were crystals on a wall inside the monastery. He also told me that there was a statue of Jesus holding a purple crystal at his heart ♥ .

I've been waiting for my closest rock hounding club/ group to answer me (Baltimore mineral society) are you in any groups or have any suggestions to where I can learn about the gems and rocks in finding? I believe I've found some quartz and possibly a small tiny piece of garnet! And also any info on places where I can rock hound? I know groups are the way to go it's a shame I can't seem to get into contact with the one closest to me.

I did not know this quarry could produce fluorite with terminations until this video! The locality is severely lacking on Mindat, that one you showed would be a great addition if you still have it!

Not true about the scratching. I've scratched "regular" quartz with other quartz before bud.

I have shown people the ones I found along with herks and it was indistinguishable. But they dont get much bigger than 50 cent piece in northern pa

They are not easy to find. But you can find them in Pennsylvania too. I know I'll get shit for saying it. But the only difference is the size and quantity. I have found some inside boulders that are every bit as clear and the shape is same. Almost like a die piece that got smushed or made oblong. Also some completely squared with double faceted ends.

Did you happen to attend a gem and minerals show outside Allentown a few weeks back by chance?

Just wanted to drop you a quick note to say thanks for posting that awesome video! My wife and I watched it, and we couldn't resist visiting the same place today. We called up the property owner, and he was really nice about it. He gave us permission to explore, so we packed up and went on our little adventure. It was pretty hot out there, so we mainly stuck to the lower area to avoid the tall weeds. And guess what? We accidentally visited during rattlesnake mating season - talk about timing! We were extra cautious, of course. Despite all that, we had a great time! Your video got us excited, and we're grateful for the inspiration. If you know the property owner, let him know we appreciated his permission! Thanks again!

I know your comparison of two Geiger counter readings next to each other is for relative numbers between the zones. Don't know if you are aware but CPM readings will vary from Geiger counter to Geiger counter. It is primarily based on exactly which GM tube or maybe even pancake probe may be in the device. GQ Electronics models like 320, 500 and 600 models all have different CPM readings on the same items. They all have different lower sensitivity and upper range limits too. Like I said, I know that this was for illustrative purposes. But figured I would note this on your video since I am sure new mineral collectors are watching.

Those trilobites aren’t actually the genus dalmanites but rather the lower Devonian species synphoria stemmata.
