I can't help but love this movie. It has the mix of the 90s and early 2000s all in one film, giving it a nice tone that is recognizable. Plus, this was back when Nicolas Cage still had juice in the tank of his career. I miss when films were made like this back in the day, no CGI.
I think a little CGI was used when Eleanor went flying.

I dont care what people say, Nicolas Cage is always a cool actor in my book. Remember watching this film over and over when I was 12-13yo, i've probably seen it 100 times.
This was a really good movie. Sometimes remakes don’t do justice to the original. This did. There’s nothing they should’ve done differently. I was glad Eleanor didn’t get beat to shreds ike in the original. Very good movie
God Nicolas Cage used to be the shit. What happened? Also .. as a German.. I never knew the antagonist was from Scotland. In the german version they made him sound like some russian dude

A great film, I absolutely loved it. It was pretty much cross genre of crime thriller with great moments of levity and comedy.
This was the movie that introduced me to the brilliance of Christopher Eccleston. A few short years later, I’d be flipping through the cable and stumbling upon a sci-if show on the (then) Sci-Fi Channel where Christopher played a renegade alien who traveled through time and space in a strange blue box. Because I remembered Christopher’s performance in this movie, I stopped to watch. I’ve been a proud Whovian ever since but I’m a Christopher Eccleston and a Doctor Who fan because of this film.
