Nope! Just make sure that you’re using an opaque acrylic and you should be fine :)

What is EL wire
EL wire stands for electroluminescent wire. It’s a copper wire coated in a phosphor that produces light. EL wire comes in a ton of colors and mimics a neon light, but is cheaper and much much safer to handle! It’s not quite as bright and has a much shorter lifespan, so if you’re concerned about those things I’d recommend investing in an actual neon light
