My sister lived in Chennai, she moved there soon after this all happened. When I visited her we drove to a place called Mumalapuram (spelling dreadful most likely😬) and the road went along the coast for a while. Its so flat, and there were countless empty lots, with just foundations standing, along the entire route of about 50kms. I may be wrong on the distance, it was while ago. But the devastation was so obvious, even a couple of years down the line. The Indian people are some of the kindest I've met in the world. This was just so devastating and so incredibly sad😪

Sad bc loss of life was preventable if only they had been told about the signs signaling the end of time starting with the Lisbon Earthquake in 1755 and the Stars Falling in 1833. Lisbon wasn’t destroyed so much by the earthquake but was by the tsunami. The water rushed out of the harbor and everyone ran into the dry sea looking at the phenomenon then the sea came back and took everyone that ran out and destroyed Lisbon. They could have recognized the pattern and escaped

Shouldn't the people living there know what retreading water means? One would think a population where tsunamis can happen would know this.
