Great footage, it's on my list of places to go and fly. I have flew from the other side of the Holme Moss mast from the Black Hill Trig Point but you don't get as good views of Holmfirth etc as from the Holme Moss car park.. Did you take off from the car park?

WOW!!! My family moved to Kirkheaton in 1965 and when we married in 1972 we stayed in the village as we liked it so much. I searched for Kirkheaton videos on You Tube last night and the 2 you made came up. Brilliant videos, clear, good colour, filmed from the perfect height and more importantly not rushed, a nice slow spin not one where you have to pause it to see anything of interest. As usual with You Tube if you watch anything you get multiple suggestions of other similar things to watch. This morning by one of those coincidences that can’t be explained your latest one for Milnsbridge was suggested. I was born in the Princess Royal Maternity hospital in 1946 and until my younger brother was born in 1951 lived in an under dwelling close to Fountain Grove on Manchester Road, we then moved to a larger property across the road, until it closed in 1934 it had been the Fountain Inn which had been converted to 2 houses, we lived there until we moved to Kirkheaton, both can be seen as the video starts. What really shocked me was the amount of trees behind the house, it’s now like a forest, we used to play all around the area and climb the hill which before we moved hadn’t a tree in sight, this also goes for much of the area we played in. We have spent the morning watching your videos of Crosland Moor where my wife grew up and Slawit where my dad is from. Unbelievably according to Google Maps we grew up 0.6 miles apart and despite using the same bus to get to our respective schools never met until a blind date in 1971. Sorry for the War and Peace post but we were so impressed with the videos I had to post my comments. Michael Swift

Even though the woollen mills have now gone, it's good to see that there are still lots of industry, at least the buildings to carry out industry. I spent the first year of my, so far, 57 years of marriage in a one room flat above a shop in the centre of Milnsbridge, it had a 40 amp electric light bulb hanging from the centre of the ceiling and when it was switched on the room got darker. But we were happy. We had £10.00 to our name, all out stuff was gifted to add to a few wedding presents, luckily we were both working so with help from the bank of dad we managed to get a mortgage for a house on the outskirts of Milnsbridge where we lived for a further 21 years. I often walk past this mill along the Huddersfield narrow canal towpath between my home in Golcar and on to Slaithwaite or Marsden. There have been many attempts to preserve this mill, but just looking from the towpath as I normally do, I had no idea how derelict it is now. Someone should "bite the bullet" and regard it as a lost cause and pull it down. Peter Norcliffe, Golcar.

As someone who grew up in Crosland Moor, thanks so much for this. I live on the Continent now but still return to Huddersfield fairly regularly. Every one of your drone videos help to keep people like me in touch with a town that is dear to us

Used to live I Huddersfield but moved away to the east coast Hornsea ,,Huddersfield was going down hill and the looks of it still is would not move there again
