Keith McBride, Chief Engineer at Assured Storm Protection shows the viewers what to do to maintain their accordion hurricane shutters. First, cleaning the shutters with a hose. Then, lubricating the tracks and locks. If we perform hurricane shutter maintenance for you, we do not hose down shutters. The owner is responsible for cleaning off their shutters. Or call Assured Storm Protection in Sou...
How to Install Hurricane Panels
zhlédnutí 109KPřed 12 lety
Chief Engineer of Assured Storm Protection, Keith McBride, shows you how to install various types of hurricane panels; like the header with studded angles, and horizontal with studded angles hurricane panels. For the vertical storm shutter, secure the top of the shutter onto the track, then line the bottom up with the hole for the bolt and nut secure the shutter in place, and you're ready for t...
I’m no expert, but I think those were up side down. Does it matter? I don’t know.
doesn't matter if they are the right size..they should of done it right since it's educational purposes..
First thing I noticed is that you have those panels upside down...and I'm not an "expert." Your wing nut should always go over the "thin" part of the keyhole.
The video says 15 yr warranty on the ES series moving parts, but I just got a written quote on those, showing only 10 years
Please set your voicemail . It is not taking messages . You might been missing business ! Thank you for another great video!
Shutters are great. Just made it through hurricane Ian. But now I have a lock that won't unlock. The key doesn't go in. All the other locks unlocked easily, but this one does not. I tried banging the side of the lock sightly with a hammer, wd 40, and countless in and out with the key, but doesn't seem to go in all the way. Any ideas how to fix?
Thank you. How often do you preform this maintenance? Do you advise covering the lock cylinder with a rubber chair cap?
How to close hurricane shutters
No necesitas personas q sepan intalar yo llevo 23 años en los shutters
Did he just install these plans upside down?
Would have been a bit more helpful if he had shown how to measure the placement of the header and the studded angle, instead of simply putting the panels in place, upside down.
Excellent video, Mr. Sangiorgio!! Question: Should be lubricating these units? They were installed a month ago.
This is actually pretty interesting, never knew so much work went into shutters. 👍🏼👍🏼
Wow this is so useful, especially living in Florida with si many hurricanes. Super informational!
Yo this is really great. Keep up the good work!
Dude, you seem like such a nice and genuine person😭 and also I love your voice!
Huu
Do you do installs in southeastTexas?
How do I replace the wheels on top of the track
Down rods frozen
You only lubricated half of the vertical bars. The back ones closest to the window. There are a whole set of bars on the front of the shutters that you didn't even address, let alone spray.
I like this guy. Wonder if they're still in business. I need new locks on my hurricane shutters.
thank you :)..very informative & brief :)
any suggestion my accordions came off track! hurricane warning
He has another video showing how to put it back on track! I followed his advice and it worked .
This has to be the worst titled video. This isn’t an installation at all. This is just putting them on the frame.
some of my thumb screws in my locking pins have seized up and I can't unscrew them. Do I have to remove the panels to repair them? I have put Silicone grease in the wholes but should I store the thumb screws in the house and put them in the shutters before a storm?
Wow you really don't know how to install shutters .... That's bad
If you want to know how to make it yourself, just look for woodprix instructions.
you put the panel upside down. the wingnut should be on the slot not the hole. if you turn the panels around the bolts and wingnuts will be in the slot, proper.
Donde llamo tel
Most of the straps that secure my shutters when not in use have rotted and ripped. I see replacement straps for sale, but cannot see how they are installed as mine look as though they were attached to the shutters themselves. Any information would be appreciated.
Mine are definitely not this well maintained. I will lubricate tops for next year. You might want to encourage people to carry wasp spray with them. I have at least one nest in every single shutter, each year. Would you consider making a video on how to replace the handle locks? The kind that you turn down a handle and hook comes down? Previous owner had bought some replacements, but I can't figure out how to take off the old one or install the new one with the rivet with a bolt....
I ended up drilling a hole in them and using a screw to keep them locked during hurricane Irma.
How do I replace the nylon rollers? Top and bottom
This guy is totally clueless, installing them upside down!
Great video. Thank you.
Yes, I think most know how to put on a wing nut! How about starting with step one, installing the rails???
Always leave locks open in case you lose the keys and need to deploy your shutter for a storm.
Assured just installed hurricane shutters on my house today, I went looking for maintenance videos, image the surprise when I found there video. Thanks for the good information and better customer service.
I have a condo on the 12th floor. I can do my balcony shutters no problem but my bedroom shutters are out of reach..How do I get to lubricate and clean them?
Thanks for this video! I'm in South Florida and my shutters were not closing properly so I watched your video and last weekend I got silicone spray and did everything you said. I'm alone so I have to figure this stuff out myself. lol. They are working fine now, thank God, because I had to use them today to shutter up for Hurricane Matthew. Relieved and glad to have found your video. :)
You would think the chief engineer would know not to put the panels on upside down.
fail, look in the background
What's so funny?? 3:13
if the tracks are clean of debris you may need some repair work
I do all that you suggest, yet there are times where some shutters don't fit properly into the groove of the opposite side(even after spraying), making it difficult to lock the shutters. What then?
