This really is one of the best versions I have heard, along with other versions by Mary Black, which are also very good in a different way. I think this song can be performed in several moods equally well. There are some songs that have that quality.

But the bigger point is that he had such an amazing sounding voice in his prime (70s). so the news. i don't know how is this possible, but deluxe album is out on torrent sites! i have the box set preordered, so i just listened to the album version of the 4 songs that were played live too! my opinion is that the album sounds fine, but these songs are much better live! this song Methademic.. on the album it has an acoustic intro and a different ending, the vocals are more unnatural than in the other songs and the "aaaa" at the end is just an effect! it's good in all but live rules!
