@EjNavarro-rn1xc majority of big ones are in the ocean. But there's always some fish in the system. And fall run should be coming up soon. They'll be bait fish. Majority of striper boil in the delta is in August through Oct. I think personally think this time of year there's more big ones, besides late spring. Time for me to pull out the big swim baits and glide baits

Fishing is a bit slow or in sacramento right now. Might have more chances in the delta or like rio Vista or sherman island. For striper that is. In sacramento, only pave of really recommend right now is Barge canal access. Has some blue gill, bass, striper , and cat fish.

Would've preferred 6lbs, but 8 was on the reel. 4lb might be pushing it since the current was strong.

I used pork liver. Some times I use chicken leg. Yes, Crawdad and crawfish is same thing

Thanks for the tip. I was just honestly not prepared for trout fishing. I had mainly my striper fishing gear😆. I was planning on using my bfs baitcaster with lure. But I ended up fishing way up at top. So I need the heavier weight to cast it to the water. Fish were not too far but throwing it too close =no fish. Medium =snag on the rocky drop off. So ended up launching far. Still had about 12 bites.

Size 5/0 to 7/0 octopus hook for striper. And shad I use a small 1/32 ounce jig head.

I was using 1/2 oz weight for the smaller rod and ibelieve 1oz for bigger rod. I noticed that once it got a bit later in the day, the fish were a bit deeper so I was casting it farther out.

Nice. Good to know. I don't really target them too often. But use to catch the small one and just deep fry it and eat the bones and all. My parents love eating bluegill though.

@@sanmansfishingadventure exactly. Shape like a bluegill, looks like a bluegill it's a bluegill in my books. You should get one of the fishing basket instead of going through the Hassel with a stringer for your bluegill.

😅 yes I know. I know there's a difference. 1/3 way in to the video I mention don't kill me for it. That I know there's a difference between red ear, bluegill, sun fish. It's like calling a small mouth bass a spotted bass.
