As a 6’7” driver I can tell you that: 1) will not fit in any jeep besides the wagoneer (the same as dodge too) 2) the full size SUVs in GMC, don’t fit into / the same as their trucks 3) ford expedition / F-150 is the only one that fits me (steering wheel is high out which is a plus) 4) the pathfinder is like I’m sitting up right in a chair that has no room, the same in the Infiniti 5) Atlas is decent but the remodel version (updated) I would check just in case 6) no Asian brand cars would fit except the new Honda Pilot, and possibly the Hyundai/Kia Telluride/Palisade 7) have to find a 3 row suv midsize to suit

My husband is 6’5” and has only fit ok in Lexus GX, Toyota 4Runner, Toyota Venza

Car companies fudge their interior dimension specs all the time so I don’t rely on that data to rule a vehicle in or out as a possibility. At 6’8 I have found I have to physically sit in vehicles to determine comfort, seat depth, thigh support,sight visibility, shoulder room, legroom,headroom etc.

I’m 6’5 and a half, and have no issues with my 2023 Bronco for sizing. Headroom and leg room are more than ample. Only issue I’ve had is the reliability of the Ford brand. That has been less than stellar.

Please check the recalls on the Kia Telluride!! The front seats that can catch on fire and the tendency to roll while in park are disturbing!! Thanks!!!

The Infotainment System is not a + in my book. The Infotainment System is a huge downgrade in my opinion. I do not want a Infotainment System in my New Car. Auto makers if your are watching this. Having the Infotainment System would be the reason why I would not buy a New Car. Give me a option that does not have the Infotainment System.

Is there an option without the Infotainment system and Push button start. I do not want a Infotainment System at all in my new Car. This is a huge Distraction when driving. Give me Dials, switches, and knobs that do not move.

I'm in the IK and it's the RAV4 every time for me. I get a touch over 50mpg (uk gallons). There is a 10yr warranty, which you will probably never need to use. Great vehicle.

I will not get a vehicle without a gas cap. You have no protection against vandels putting sugar in your gas tank!!! Locking gas cap it the way to go.😊

What about the rest of the world that isn't American? I live in UK where most of the SUVs are diesels, not your gas-guzzling petro-centric gas-guzzlers. My Skoda Kodiaq SEL gives me 47 miles per gallon.....

I like Subaru Forester It is extremely safe. It is loaded with safety features and is very dependable. Mine came with a lifetime warranty on the all wheel drive powertrain. It also is a really fun car to drive, not just for "seniors"

Still driving my beautiful 1999 Rav4 and I'm devastated because it's beginning to rust out underneath😢 Why in hell are the new snaller compact SUVS like sardine cans! I test drove the 2023 RAV4 and the sight lines are ridiculous. One other pet peeve! Why does every car come with tinting on the will? SOME OF US OLDER DRIVERS DON'T WANT IT! And I'm only 67. I'm so upset I have to lose my 99 Rav4 considering the crap options 😠🤬

I'd like a more thoughtful discussion of what seniors really need/value. The only reason we're replacing our 100% reliable Toyota sedan is safety--the higher (better visibility) seating position of an SUV. But there's also the difficulty of stepping up to enter/exit a higher SUV.

I am an occupational therapist; positioning and functional movement IS our wheelhouse. As mobility declines, the best suite of safety features reduce (but not eliminate) the demands of turning eyes and head. Adjustable safety belts are essential. A power seat adjustment and heated seats are welcome choices. SUVs have storage that requires less bending to access. Power tailgate and moonroof is helpful as well. You want a high enough ground clearance and leg space to enter and exit w/o severe hip bending, particularly as knees and hips become an issue. Best visibility forward, side and rear are essential. If you become disabled, find an OT that can formally assess and adapt your driving experience for safety and comfort. AARP holds FREE car assessments at most university programs on a regular basis. We want people to retain both their safety and independence.

For seniors, forget big power, sports car handling, off-road nonsense, even gas mileage. Other than purchase price, we look for: 1. Ease of physically entering/egressing the vehicle, general ergonomic accessibility and comfort. 2. Safety, above all vision-height but also other plausible safety features. 3. Reliability--This may be our last car, and we need it to last with no mechanical hassles.
