Hi, I am currently using this bar and lines and having a few issues with it. On a few occasions I have had to pull the quick release stage 1 but the safety line is tied onto the swivel ring as well as the other lines so the kite remains under full power? This doesn't seem right and quiet dangerous! Is this a setup issue or design issue? This video does seem to show all lines connected to the single swivel ring so I am a little confused.

Do you think 2011 IDS bar will work with 2017 Switchblade - anybody try this ?

Nope...that ain't landing. That's the problem with this bar. You can't self land with it. It is really a 3 line kite the way they have the bar designed...very stupid. Not to mention different length lines all around. Insane!!! That's why I'm selling mine.

Hi, i have just bought the 2012 Crossbow 11m with that IDS bar. After i use the first IDS release there is hard to get it to the right place back together again. Is there an easy way to do that? Lets just say im in the sea i fell down and i used the first release. How can i easly pull first quick release back together? You know, like in 3 seconds or something... Is there a special hand move or something like that (or maybe orientation points for fingers) or do i need both hands and 15 seconds?

Very useful video. I was considering doing some modification to my old Cabrinha bar. I've managed to lighten up the bar pressure by altering the steering lines configuration on the 2:1 pulley system. I almost managed to eliminate the trouble of getting the safety leash twisted around front lines. However, there seems to be more trouble in solving the twist issues when doing back loop jumps. I guess I need to invest in buying IDS bar system!

that is more like self crashing the kite which is actually a feature of all kites.

Riding upwind is an intermediate technique that can be accomplished in several ways. The simplest one is to have a kite with enough power for your weight that can propel you without having to move it up and down in the wind window. To go upwind, you need to generate enough speed to be able to keep the kite at a 45 degree angle also called 11 or 1 and edge against the kite will riding this will get you back to the beach. I suggest you take a lesson that covers this and you'll learn pretty fast!
