Good morning. A slug will do the same. They wont tumble. The fit is very close to the bore size. Shotguns do not have rifling to grab and engrave land and grooves into the projectile. Slugs slide through the muzzle. Best regards…..Barry

Good morning:: For my personal 12 & 20 ga. loads I use TITE-GROUP or CLAYS. For 410 I like H110. Great 410 powder. H110 is also versatile in that it is a good powder for my 45 Colt loads. Plus; I never load to max. I keep things mid-range for safe pressure. Hope this helps…..Barry

As you know. Components like Primers, powder and such are different to find. I use any standard 209 primer I can find. Wads, In 410 I get Clays from Ballistic Products. In 410, I like H110. It also doubles for my 45 Colt. In the other gages it depends on what I am loading. Game shot, buck or slugs. Each will take different powders, wads and powder charges. But. All use a 209 primer. That’s a commonality with them. Good loading data can be found online from the Powder manufacturer. Or, find a current reloading data book. Hope this has been of some help. Best regards….Barry

I am sorry to disappoint. We do not make a Survival Loader Kit for 28 ga. At one time we did a short production run to test the market. They were made for 28 ga. - 16 ga. - 10 ga. We didn’t have much interest from customers to justify the expense of tooling and stocking. Test sales were fairly dismal. BUT!!!!!!!!! This may be of some help. I have attached information for 2 other companies that may have them. I do not know if they are still in business. These reloader kits are very different from ours; so, I cannot speak to the quality. I got a 410 kit maybe two years ago. My chickens love it but the coons and possums not so much... my loads with the kit hit much harder, guessing my loads are running faster than factory. For farm defense level of shooting it can't be beat!

Hello: While the Survival Loader is not designed nor is it intended to load the all brass shells, it can be done with some considerations. ( I use it on my Mag-Tech Brass Shells ) I would not buy the Survival Loader kit specifically to load only the all Brass Shells. It would be a waist of money unless you are also looking to load regular shells. For one: The primer hole is different on All Brass. The all Brass Shells use regular large pistol or rifle primers. The 209 Shotgun Primer de-cap rod will to work to de-cap the primer. The pin is too large. Also, you cannot crimp the metal. You would need to glue an “over-shot” wad inside the case mouth to keep the shot load from falling out. I hope this information helps. Best regards,,,,,,,,,,,Barry

Hello and Thank you for commenting. The LEE Load-All is a pretty decent Bench Mounted machine. And the price is fair. But,the Survival Loader Kit is a totally different animal. LEE used to make portable Shotgun Reloader Kits, but that was a long time ago. You can still find one every now and then on Ebay. Last time I checked the prices were north of $150. You can find them as singles or in sets. Below is the information on the sizes and where they can be bought. I suggest just buying them as singles, unless you want to have a compete set, The metric are not expensive since they are imported. I found my single punches on ETSY. They were about $4 to $5 each. I tried many different sizes before finding just the right fit. In my opinion, the sizes listed seem to work best. The best are made by C.S. Osborne. Made in the USA Metric::: Imported and can be found on ETSY. But also they are available on Ebay, Amazon, or large selection from Tandy Leather. Normally they are available, either as a single punch or in sets. 410 ga. = 13/32 US size is best or a second best 10.5 mm 20 ga. = 11/16 US size is best or a second best 17.5 mm 12 ga. = 3/4 US size is best or a second 19 mm

Hello Tim and thank you for asking that question. First. LEE used to make manual reloaders for shot shells. But they haven’t for many years now. Look on Ebay. Often a 410 LEE manual kit is north of $150. Ours are also different. They actually resize and make a very decent re-crimp. These are designed for the Survival-Prepper situations. They are also smaller than the old LEE kits. And they are top quality that will last. LEE still makes pistol and rifle manual reloaders at a decent price point. But. For a bug-out manual shot shell reloader,,,,we are head and shoulders above any others. I hope this helps explain to some degree your question. Please let me know if I can be of more help. @@barrydeclined2547 I see Lee is currently out of stock of the #12 loaders, but I can buy them all day long for less than $50. I happen to have one of the really old ones in the all-cardboard box. FYI, it (optionally) resizes, too. I just bought one in .303 British for a family member. Lee still makes and sells quite a variety of different calibers. You might want to reconsider your loader prices.

@@barrydeclined2547 .410 is far simpler to reload than #12 is; it takes nearly nothing to do that job. It's little wonder that Lee isn't trying to sell those any more. Anyone with the slightest bit of hand skills can easily reload them.

The LEE load all is available. It is typically for mounting on a work bench. They are a good deal. I see they are around $69 or so fro Palmeto. However. Form what I can see, the manual-pocket sized are are not available. Please send me the link and I will be more than willing to check them out. If a person doesn’t need a compact, drop in the pocket shotshell reloader. Then the LEE Load-all is the way to go. The comparison is like a large apples to apricots. We are the smaller apricot. I'm talking about the "Lee Classic Loader", which used to be called the "Lee Pocket Loader" because you could easily drop the whole thing in the pocket of your field jacket along with the requisite mallet and a little can of powder and another little can of shot and you'd be hunting pheasant all day. You can very nearly tuck the whole loader into a shirt pocket.

I had the same problem,.. it turned out to be ok with practice... apparently the video is their first generation kit.... I contacted them and they said the generation 2 kits that have been out for the past 2 years are a much better kit,.. I have the newer kit,,,they said the crimp and swager thingy made a big improvement.,,,, I think it was just me needing to get the right feel..... but,,,they told me that if I was not satisfied that I could return it for a refund...... at least they are honest in that regards...... hope it works for you,,,,I'm getting great crimps now.....Roy 😀

for 12 ga. I use Titewad. I like H110 powder for the 410. It works great for the 410 and for my 45 Colt. As for how powder weight. That is a big variable. It depends on the weight of the shot load. I have several different loads. Each with different amounts of powder. Best that you go online to one of the reloading site to see what they recommend for load data. Hello. The Survival Loader Kit is set up with tools to reload the more common “Star Crimped” shells. But; if you add a separate “Roll Crimp” Tool, you can make the final crimp a rolled crimp. Roll Crimp tools are modestly priced online. I bought mine at ballistic products. I use the Roll Crimp for my “slug” reloads only. All others (shot, buck, etc) ...I use the more common Star Crimp. You can also make Slug Loads with a Star Crimp shell. Or with the “cut shell” method. They all work fine. Hope this information helps. best regards........barry

Hello Chris... sorry for taking so long to reply.. I did some research online and found there are several companies who already sell biodegradable shotgun wads.....As for making your own.... I can only think of the old fashion but reliable Cork, or thick cardboard or Felt materials.... If you use Cardboard, be sure to soak in a flame retardant solution to keep the risk of a fire to a minimum. These materials will naturally degrade over time..... These were used in times past, for shotguns before the advent of new technology.... Sorry I can't be of more help.... Best regards.....Barry
