Hello Ellery, Marjorie Dawson here. I used to volunteer at UHARS years ago and it was then I met (and like everyone at the Rescue) fell in love with Arthur. His initial diagnosis meant they considered not keeping him, BUT he was such a delightful charmer everyone fell in love with that he was given his own accommodation along with some kittens in their nursery block. I spent about half an hour with him on my visits (I used to tend the rabbits) and he was the loveliest gentle cat you could ever hope to meet. Even now I run his video from time to time because he was a special cat. The FIV+? I am genuinely surprised they didn't tell you. I believe different people and protocols might be in place now but FIV is not a death sentence. A friend's cat lived to be about 16! He was so cuddly, and radiated contentment and friendliness. I just wish I had more photos to share but the ones in the video sum up his happy soul. We were all delighted when he found a home. He was special. Marjorie

Thank you so much for that story Marjorie, I'm glad he was loved throughout his life. I currently volunteer at UHARS and have done since I met Arthur in Dec 2020. It must have been some terrible oversight that the FIV info was never passed on. I would have adopted him either way. I didn't know a lot about his past, just that he had been at UHARS once before, but that the family brought him back because he wasn't getting along with their dog. I believe he was only back at the shelter about a month before I took him home. I only had 18 months with him before cancer got the better of him. I miss him so much every day and wish we had longer together. Thank you so much for sharing your story and for posting the video. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it. Do you remember how long he was at UHARS before the family adopted him? Thank you so much

@@elleryhart7255 I did not know he had come back, that is sad, but it's always a challenge when pets don't get on. We fostered a beautiful cat from UHARS called Memphis, totally gorgeous and cover model looks, but he hated all of our cats. We tried to fit him in but, he eventua;ly went to a home where he was treated like a spoiled rock star!!! I do not believe Arthur was there too long. The rescue was committed to keep him with them because he was so friendly. You had 18 months of joy with a wonderful boy. I am always grateful UHARS found space in their kind hearts for him when others might had discarded him and he found you.

Hello Bryan, For the wi-fi model the Cat Door 'Connect' you do need their Hub to use an app on a smartphone. BUT if your cat has an ordinary microchip (all of my cats have a chip) you will be better off with the Dual Scan cat door. This gives you control of who goes in and out through your cat or cats microchip and keeps out unwanted visitors. I hope this helps. Marjorie

Hi Pete the range is about 120 metres or 400 feet. I reviewed the Tabcat if you need more information. GPS trackers go further but at the moment they are a little bit too big for most cats. I am going to research GPS because cat tech is racing along and I know at some point there will be cat-friendly GPS that are not too heavy. (Post Link: dashkitten.com/tabcat-cat-locator/)

Sorry to take forever to get back Cinnamon Roll, I had big CZcams issues. The distance is about 400 (150metres?) feet, so it is good for cats who are hard to find at home or around your home area. It has been a help locating cats. I have seen some complaints but I can say, that it works for me, and I like it a lot. For a cat you keep losing (even indoors) this is a genuine help.

120 mts/400 feet is the range I have managed to track for Mac. I have added the details to the post.

OK confession time ;-) We have a storm coming through 160 kph gales! Fun but we hope for some sunshine after that!!
