I wish you did real women on here. My husband and I want to move our family to AZ so badly. To do that would mean God would have to provide everything for us from a home, to a job for my husband because Im a stay at home , homeschool mom of two rambunctious boys

Love languages are for.more than just spouses to! My boss made everyone do the love langiage test so we can be encouraged in a way that beat fits our love language. If yours is words of affirmation, she makes sure to tell you when and what your doing well. If its quality time, shell offer extra meeting time to discuss ways to improve your day, if its gifts shell leave small things like candy on your desk.

I had been serving in a very low-self-worth, assumption-fueled codependent way… all the while not hearing his one main request for what it truly was all along: an Act of Service (his top love language). Asking how he felt loved was getting us no where. Even he didn’t realize! He doesn’t simply -nor need to- “feel” loved… he *sees* and experiences how he is loved.

My husband is a self-made engineer (no schooling!) for an extremely reputable go-go-go company, who is also heavily involved in his hobbies -working on them away from home *and* going on out of town adventures with said hobby pieces, *and* posting all about it on his own Instagram and CZcams accounts-and communicating with fellow hobbyists via social media, as well as following countless online content creators… All the while priding himself on maintaining “Notification Zero.” Can you imagine what kind of attention and time that sucks up??! There is practically nothing left for me or our son. 😭😭💔😩💔😭😭

My marriage was crumbling, and I was trapped in a codependent victim mentality (due to cptsd and childhood/lifelong toxic shame, etc etc) and my husband had rejected (my advances) and inadvertently shamed me one too many times. I was depressed and wanting to be in Heaven already. After years of therapy, and after recommitting my life to the Lord and embracing the SOURCE of my worth and identity, one day, I had had ENOUGH of the marital decay and situational mutism I was experiencing. So, I texted my husband. I opened up about a great many things, and began doing my part to help bridge the chasm between us… via the written word. Texting kept my emotions, tears, and potential frustration and rage, out of it and allowed him to really HEAR my heart. Months later and I am able to speak *to* him, face to face, a lot more / better. (Sorry this is long …. My real point is…) My husband is very much conflict avoidant, and I recently stated that to be that way is to essentially be relationship avoidant. He’s still processing that one. :-/
