I was in high school and for me and my first girlfriend this was our song. We drifted apart for dumb reasons but I remember her whenever I hear Bobby’s version. Over 50 years ago. I hope her life went well.

I can only listen to this song by Bobby Hatfield because nobody else compares to him!

I knew someone in a band with my longtime boyfruend also in the band, who sang this and sounded exactly like this singer. He also did a killer version of Leon Russel singing Lady Blue. I stopped when the original stopped because to me, that is the only voice sound that should ever sing this song. Now that i know and have also heard the rest it makes ne sad because of things that were done to me as a teen. Its hard to see this as a sexual song. I never did until now. Its a stretch. But a sad one.

Mr. Burbidge seems to have left out possibly one of the most important details . in an interview Gary booker , he said he was listening to JS Bachs Air on a G string and after a few minutes began to veer off into his own melody . however the original notes to Bachs piece can clearly be heard in bookers version .
