    I remember of course the scene where she got beat up and I also just had fallen so much for this character and was absolutely horrified by what they did to Nikki. It is indeed a very dark season where increasingly the more lighter sides and absurd humour will have to make room for some pretty dark twists and turns. I must say I'm enjoying this season now much more than the first time. It's at least as great as the first two.

As someone who's done a lot of stupid s*** to their body which means they're probably not going to live to be an old man, it's comforting to see someone face their mortality with such dignity. Big recommend 😁👍

    Mike's ending is the dictionary definition of a hollow victory. He wasn't demoted to a desk job, but rather promoted. That was him getting all the corporate praise he could ever hope for. Mike said to Lou "we're the future, and you're the past". He clearly had ambition and saw himself as on the rise. Unfortunately, he too was part of a past where territory acquisition in organized crime was more akin to conquest. What you took over, you took control of. But this mentality, in the rising corporatized world of organized crime, was also an outdated model. In the end, Mike's reward was being forced to abandon being a cowboy, and to become a pencil-pusher instead.

    Why is no one holding the parents accountable for these kids? They showed us how Sansa looked to her FATHER before she responded. It was clear she was groomed as to how to respond. Ned game her over to The Lannisters. She has to be loyal to Joffrey. Joffrey is being groomed to be entitled. He is heir to the throne. Tyrion should know this. As his uncle he could make a difference by spending time with him and teaching him. Slapping him around only makes a future enemy of him. A child will remember being physically abused. Robert, Jaime, and Tyrion all failed Joffrey. And Cercei is clearly insane.

A daughter fucking, Wildling bastard". I think Viserys' demise was inspired by the demise of Valerian(Roman history), who was captured and had molten gold poured down his throat as a metaphor for his lust for gold. Season 8 was and still is some of the worst television in terms of writing. Yet, aside from some screwups like the lighting in episode 4 or the Starbucks incident, the cinematography was amazing, and the actors still tried their best with what they had. The teleporting that started happening in Season 7 and the complete neglect of all the character development throughout the series were awful. The behind-the-scenes videos of D&D explaining some of the scenes are even worse. What they did to Euron Greyjoy is so abhorrent I could stop watching all of Season 7 and Season 8 because of him alone. Yet, the effort that the actors, costumers, CGI, and the rest of the crews put in is so good that I can still get through most of both and enjoy it if I don't think too much about stuff and enjoy those things. These are just my thoughts. Since you brought up Season 8, I just thought I'd share them.

    • @BAReactions

      Completely respect these opinions, they are shared by many fans and most of the CZcams "why season 8 sucks" videos. I do disagree with a lot of them, including the "teleporting" criticism, but I'll get more into those points as the series progresses! Hope you enjoy the reactions my friend.

    • @sarukinu7947
      @sarukinu7947 Před 11 dny

      There is a famous video of the actors being all at the table and reading the script/dialogues. There was so much grief there and disappointment because of the bad writing. Was really sad to see. And yeah, what they did to Euron Greyjoy is horrible, he is a fantastic character in the books, million times better. If they did him right people's jaws would be dropping and eyes popping out when watching him do his things.

    • @BAReactions
      @BAReactions Před 7 dny

      @@sarukinu7947 I think fans look into things to fit their agenda. I watched that table read and I read their language as being disappointed the show was ending, and shocked that Danny turned to the dark side. Not hating the bad writing, this just seems to be an assumption made by the Season 8 is bad crowd. They also use clips of Danny at the premier making a weird face when asked if she's happy with the season. She obviously made that face alluding to the fact she kills lots of people so obviously she shouldn't be happy about it.. but again fans took that as her sending them a "message" season 8 was bad. It's all very reachy.

    Some additional things from your commentary: 1) Blazing Saddles Theme - It was written originally for the film. It was sung by Frankie Laine, a well known singer of country/western lore. In fact, Mel said that they did not tell Frankie it was a comedy movie so he would sing it seriously. Mel did write the lyrics, though. 2) Hedley Lamarr - The character was played by the late Harvey Korman, a Jewish American. He was not British at all. He just talked that way. He was also very active with Carol Burnett and was a hefty part of her shows. He was also the voice of the "Great Gazoo" from the "Flintstones" Animated TV series.

    I liked the esthetics of this episode but the ending did fall flat. I thought it'd end with a fight in the space ship then cut to the replicant getting up but the audience not knowing who won the fight.

      That would have been a good way for the ending to pan out, not dark enough for our Charlie of course.

    About the two WB Intro logos/bumpers. When the film first came out, there was only one. It's the one you see with the burn out that leads into the opening credits. The 2nd one was added when the film came out on DVD and Blu-Ray.

    I'm a bit late to the party, but here are some things I haven't seen mentioned yet in the comments. 1) The Indian Chief - That was Mel Brooks, again, of course. He was speaking Yiddish, a Jewish dialect. When he says "Abi Gezheun" it's the same as "Auf Wiedersehen" in German. Mel also played the guy during the initial "#6" raid that crashed in to the window, and then crashes out from the inside into the next window, saying "Oh S**t!" 2) Lili Von Shtupp - The word "Shtup" is Yiddish for "having s*x." In fact, that word was censored in conservative TV markets where the movie was shown on TV (Chicago, for example). A lot of things were censored in those markets. For example, when the church parishioners are singing, "Our town is turning into..." They overdubbed a loud organ cord so you couldn't hear it. Likewise, during the very infamous "campfire" scene, all of the "flatulence" was overdubbed by horses neighing. 3) Gucci - It was established in 1926, whereas the movie takes place in 1874. The film itself was shot 100 years later in 1974. 4) Yes/No - In the 60's - 70's, large truck/trailers would paint "Yes" on the left side of the back and "No" on the right side. This was to indicate which side was safe for other cars to pass the truck on a highway. In other words, "Yes," it was safe to "pass on the left," but "No," not on the right. 5) CandyGram - This was, actually, an homage to the WB/Bugs Bunny Cartoon "The Old Grey Hare" (Robert Clampett) A very elderly Bugs and Elmer are still going at it after 60 years (1941 - 2000). The very last scene is Elmer, buried alive in the ground by Bugs being "relieved" that he no longer suffers from Bugs' attacks. Bugs busts in (underground) and says, "Weeeelll nooooow, I wouldn' say thaaaaaat." And he hands Elmer a lit stick of dynamite. Fade to black and then to the "That's All Folks" outro while the fuse is still lit and hissing. The Stick then blows while the outro is still playing and it shakes it. It's the only time the outro has ever had live action in it. 6) The Governor's name - A lot of people overlook this. The name "William J. LePetomane" is a reference to a French vaudevillian in the 19th century by the name of Joseph Pujol, His stage name was "Le Pétomane..." or, (closest French translation), "The Fartsy." His act consisted of "flatulating" various songs or other sounds with total precision. Pujol would, clean and irrigate his colon several times a day to keep his emissions from becoming "fragrant." 7) Hedy vs. Hedley - Certainly, "Hedy" Lamarr (the actress) was alive when the film came out and did in fact sue the production co. Apparently, they worked it out. Not many know this about her, but Hedy was quite intelligent and invented "wireless" technology components that are still used today in Wi-Fi equipment, etc. etc. 8) Campfire Scene - That was a satirical comment/parody by Mel on how you often see all these Western movies where the cowboys sit around a campfire and eat an unconscionable amount of beans and drink gallons of black coffee. His direct quote: "You can't tell me that if there are a bunch of cowboys sitting around eating all those beans and drinking all that black coffee, there isn't going to be a little gas in an hour or so."

    Keith Carradine , David Carradine , and Robert Carradine are all actors Their father John Carradine was a very famous actor in his day. He was in many many movies with all of Hollywoods stars of his day. So it runs in the family

    This movie inspired my D&D group because I couldn't make routine sessions due to my job sending me around for travel a lot. So my character was Sharlto Copley in this film, I just had a bunch of random character sheets the DM made for me and I'd RP as whichever one the DM gave me. When I couldn't make the next session, the DM killed off the character in a wild way until I showed up again.

      Nice that sounds like a cool concept for a DnD game!
