The lanyard is made of a strong nylon blend with an industrial clip. The lanyard serves not just as a saftey to prevent the remote from falling over board but also allowing the freedom to release the rmeote and have both hands for lines and fenders while docking.

@@YachtControllerTV I meant the lanyard around his neck next to a drive shaft thus yanking him headfirst into the drive shaft that is what was making me nervous

All thruster kits come standard with our military grade illuminated rocker switch control, however, certain applications can opt for our upgraded throttle control which offers a built in thruster control button on the throttle handle for added convenience. Maneuverability is greatly enhanced with the ezDrive thruster. That is a great question, Richard! The Easy Drive is crafted specifically for wakeboard and sport boats and not recommended for a 45-55 sailing catamaran. With that being said our marine tech department has also created thruster specifically for a 45-55 sailing catamaran, which is a majestic boat, if I may add.
