It's a useless discussion. Just talking around the bush. Western consumerist lifestyle, meat eating, wars, 5 star living, are causes of this state of affairs. Simply talking, protests etc are just hypocritical and waste of time. These people on the show should practise what they preach

It's the corporations as well as the ignorant citizens that are killing the wildlife. The Corporations destroy their habitats which leave them vunerable to hunters and the wildlife trade. It's an evil enterprise as are the people that participate within it. Corporations make deals with the gov and local agencies to destroy its natural lands to get to the resources they expoit for profit.

It always boils down to money. I keep hearing billionaires saying safe the earth. Spend some of your fortunes and stop the palm oil plantations and hunting of all the apes. There’s no money in that for them so it’s left up to the rest to do the work and give what they can. Keep preaching to us, we will do the real work. It is awful what has been done to all of the great apes in the past century.

Whoever put this video together is deceiving you on purpose. Female heirarchy is not just in Bonobo society, they are primary in Capuchin and ape culture. They all have a heirachy structure, and most after the males, the females are next in line. Primitive traits in primitave primates with same sex bull shit is NOT the norm. The norm is the head male breeds with females, except for species like Gibbons and Marmasets mate for life.

This is the first time I heard about Bonobo's. I watch a rescue on CZcams called Monkey World. I don't know if they will ever get any at the rescue since they are breeding other monkeys like Orangutans, Wooley Monkeys and so on. I live in the United States and have watch until season 6 until they share the other 15 seasons. I was on there channel and that's when I was suggested the Lola ye Bonobo's channel and the Bonobo's Conservation. Since you had the Cincinnati zoo in the documentary, I'm going to try to go there. Since documentary is from 14 years ago, I wonder if there are places closer to Utah that's not 2 or 3 days away. Thank you for doing this documentary. I hate that any wild animal needs to have the kind of help from rescue groups, conservationists, zoo's and so on. I can understand why people kills certain animals for food like cows, chickens and animals like that but only in a humane way and not is places that torture animals through genetics and steroids. When it comes to those who live in certain countries and places like the Congo or where food is limited, I don't know if I kind of understand or not. I will never understand why they kill these beautiful Bonobo's. It seems like there are so many villagers and people that understand how wrong it is to kill these nearly extent animals that others that are killing the adults for food and sell the babies are wrong to do that. I don't know very much about the people from there. The only things I know about Africa first hand is because of our church having a missionary family The Fowlers that's with CMFI (Missionary Fellowship International). They serve in the Benishangul-Gumuz Region but I don't think it's near the Congo since it looks more like dry and like a desert. I sent them a private message on Facebook to see how far they are from the Congo and if they have been there before. Alison said they are about 250 miles from the Congo. Anyhow, I will never understand the mind of anyone who thinks OK kill any animals like the apes, monkey's and so many more. I'm curious if the government, rescue groups and other places that are doing anything about teaching the people about the reality, long term consequences of killing the Bonobo's since they are killing them. Eventually there won't beany left which is because of them. I also wonder if these groups have help them with getting food and teaching them ways to garden and find other meat sources without murdering the Bonobo's.
