Firstly, Get some thick high pile carpet about 4’ wide and lay it down encircling the chimney so that any stray brick chips don’t fall and ruin the asphalt shingles around the chimney base. Secondly, get a bucket or a bricklayer muck bucket to put those brick scraps in so they don’t sit on the shingles and rub the gravel off.

know the rise / know the run - in theory it ought to fit - in reality may be 1/2 off - you just deal with it once had a 3 story / 11,000 sq foot house with all windows and exterior doors custom built - owner of the millworks came and took the measurements - he gave the rough opening measures to his crew and didn't tell them those were rough openings, so they built them all to his sizes - that was fun making them all fit

Obviously stairs is not your forte, been wrestling with that stairs for weeks, woulda taken you 2 yt shorts to get it finished if it was a roof.

1/2” high? Easier to notch the framing out to seat the sub floor to height that disassemble. You had the router out already! Dont gimme that structural nonsense…. We all know it woulda been fine.But still…. Nicely done.
