      @chtclimbing Před 5 dny

      @@arbolorian that device is still in service today. I do daily inspections and since purchasing my first tritech I’ve now replaced it several times. The wear and tear on it is phenomenal, I am amazed at how well the positioner grabs after such a long time. I do, however, see that the positioner tends to slip when the lanyard is dirty. That’s the most recent thing in terms of wear and tear on the positioner. I’ve used one lanyard for about 2.5 solid years before I knocked it with the saw. This combo is bad to the bone!

      @@herokid3799 You’re welcome and I don’t think anyone has ever seen me as a big bro. Showing people my way of doing things has always been a huge passion of mine so thanks for the kind words. I use the rigging plate because I like to use SRS devices in a MRS manner. In an MRS situation, I usually hookup the SRS device to the forward most eye on the plate, then throw the rope into my TIP and terminate the connection to the rearmost eye (the eye closest to me. I like the space it gives between the device and rope. Mostly only for this reason.

    Very nice. I've been trying to move past the prussik for years. I have to have a two direction lanyard, because I'm old and not as strong at climbing as you young men. The prussik gets too tight at just the sketchy moment I need to move it on my fifteen foot lanyard. I use the same hooks or very similar to what you have, because they're lighter than the steel ones. If you were to post a video of you using this lanyard to ascend a tree while staying tied in the whole time, that wold be really helpful. I have on order a Klimair Adjuster to solve this, but i really like the way a Distel and pulley moves on my climb line, and I was thinking of having two of those rigs on there, but I wonder about the clutter factor. Thank you for posting this!

    What kind of redirect is that? Does it not add to much friction and when is best time to use it like that? Asking cause I climb zigzag drt and I find myself doing a lot of oak clean outs and dead wooding and get into spots I can't advance out without resetting my whole system.

    • @chtclimbing
      @chtclimbing Před 3 měsíci

      It’s called a termination-end redirect. I use anytime I need to protect myself out on a limb. I can use it to help me climb around a canopy to access some point of interest. I can use it like this to advance my tie in point. The only limit I’ve encountered is when redirecting through very tight crotches. They tend to add too much friction.

    Hi, I’m at 31 min in but can’t resist to say few things: - looks like you are rushing a little bit, I follow you I never see you rushing or hurry like this, is that any reason for that? - if you face cut the big branches and direction on the right side you can control better the falls without brushing the house or the other trees branches. If the chainsaw is stocked in to stopping it is a nice and safer, and after freeing out is a good idea to do visual check on there is no significant damage on the blade. Keep up the good work. Just my friendly 2 cents. Erik from Budapest / Hungary 🇭🇺

    • @chtclimbing
      @chtclimbing Před 3 měsíci

      @sethhaun78 this rope is called dragonfly by teufelberger. This is a low stretch static kernmantle construction rope. It offers great versatility in terms of climbing application and knotability. As you’ve seen I climb SRS and MRS with this rope. The nature of it may lean slightly toward a spongy feel however once loaded and the load maintained, it behaves like any other static. So for lack of better explanation it is in this gray area between static and the standard high elongation ropes. I hope that helps!🤙🏼
