We owned and sailed Malo 39 I69 and Malo 43 I27 in the UK and later the US. Both yachts were tremendous. Every access element was as good as one could ask. Our problem was moving back to the US and not having more than sailing to Catalina as a limited goal.
It’s really sad that a Dutchman that bought the yard and trashed it’s ethos. Having purchased two yachts in 2002 and 2006, and having the second deemed the “best” the agent had delirvered in 24 years, well we thought we had the ultimate small sailing yacht. On selling it we were both sad, given the glorious experiences we had had on the south coast of England and on the north coast of France, and pleased that the sailing prospects off the coast of the 😅southern coast of California simply were not up to our experiences and expectations in Europe. The person that purchased our amazing yacht lives in Seattle and likely will enjoy many years of sailing with her.
