ASMR - Soldering kit assembly
I just felt like doing something different today. A little ASMR while soldering together this timer kit.
There are tons of different soldering kits on the market. They are a fun way to learn how to solder. I'm not expert, but I do ok.

Blue jean travel journal
zhlédnutí 57Před měsícem
There a many travel journals available on the market today. Some of the popular brands can be a little pricey. I wanted to make a cover to hold 5.5" x 3.5" note pads. And make it as cheap as possible. I used 1/8" plywood, old denim jeans, and craft glue to make this cover.

Playing with dirt - Dorodango DIY

I decided to try my hand at making a Dorodango sphere. Soil combinations used - all from my property, nothing special. Equal parts clay and sandy soil with dry straw. Equal parts clay and sandy soil without dry straw. Topsoil, just below the grass layer with dry straw. All versions had a similar end result. Clay and sand without straw being the best end result I got.

What happens if you forgo rubbing it with fine dirt to make the shell? I've seen some videos that don't do it and it seems to come out fine.
I don't think it's 100% necessary. There isn't a hard rule to follow, from what I can tell. I think the process of adding layers helps give a more round shape.
My first one looks like your textured one, shiny but rough. My friend said it looks like an old skee ball lol How do you get them so marble smooth? Just keep damp and adding more fine layers?
The fine dirt helps build up an outer shell. I added maybe 6 layers. After that, I waited for it to dry slightly until it started to feel firm. I started polishing it with a smooth jar (around 17 minutes in the video).
Awesome thanks for the reply 👍
Is it fragile?
Not overly fragile. They can be handled without much worry. One fell on the floor from about 4 feet, and only a small piece broke off. Very tough considering it's just polished dirt.
Hey, those key rings are different. I like that.
The bluish one with the chip in the upper right is gorgeous 🥰 they all look cool tho!
Wabi sabi, the imperfections give it unique beauty
This by far the most helpful dorodango video I’ve watched, god bless man
Good job!
When you don't drive the car that often the diaphragm in the fuel pump goes out or gets stuck.
I can’t wait to get my ring press! So fun!
Modern Masters makes (patina paint) that is a really fun way to patina anything that will take paint. Totally great Beer drinking fun!!🥴🍻😁
Use hair.🖖🏻
I love dorodango
Just finished my first ring. Its stainless. Very hard to bend.I should of annealed it first.Still turned out decent.Im hooked! Going thrift shopping tomorrow! Thanks for your knowledge!! Definitely gonna try the GM key ring next!! I know a few car guys that would really dig a car key ring.🤘🤠🤘
Refreshing to see a video where you as a streamer show what difficulties you run into, instead of only showing the flawless attempts. Thanks! Enjoy your weekend sir.
This is so cool! Question- How long did you let the copper "marinate?"
I did this so long ago I don't really remember. Typically I check things the next day.
Colour the spoon blank with a black sharpie pen before annealing ,then wave the flame over spoon till the ink evapirates ,then you stop the annealing process ,and then proceed to hammer into shape
Thanks John! That makes annealing alot easier!!
Pretty cool!
Can you show us how you made the hearts?
I was trying to come up with some ideas for new videos. This will definitely be added to the list. Thanks!
I never knew that clay/dirt and water could look so nice! The spheres look similar to something i dabble in, although i use a nepalese technique, and a different material.
Post to subreddit as well pls
I'm SO glad you posted this! I'm wanting to make some for a local art show. ❤
Nice ring forming tool! Pepe?
Indeed it is
Interested in how to make the dark colour
I use Liver of Sulphur. It will turn silver and copper black, or close to it.
What about silver spoons, do you have to change the assay on them for change of use? If so how do you do that?
I know the video is old but... with neon sign transformers it could take a minute or 3 just for the burn to start. it takes awhile sometimes.
Thanks!
Thank you for your valuable information, success!! 😊
The way you are dealing with the clamps and probes is like looking down the barrel of a loaded gun with a hair trigger. The table you inserted at 3:33 was very good. That said, I think these are externally measured currents, and the amount of internal penetration is related to the applied voltage. Apparently "medium" voltages (2000 volts), are the sweet spot which do the most damage, because they can deliver the currents in the table deep into tissue. Probably why that voltage works so well for woodburning? And the additional power (amps X volts) of course. The current that actually can stop the heart is very low, milliamps. My guess is the table accounts for current spreading out through the body, so it is higher. Unfortunately, with one clamp in the right hand and one in the left, you provide an electron superhighway through your arms and to the chest. Let's not ignore that fraction of the overall current which is spread through the body and making it's way around the heart. It is burning your internal organs like a piece of lichtenburg art.
So it's too much heat that's cracking it so much? Just for a idea how many glasses did you break before one came out normal😅 asking for a friend
Aways use a foot peddle on /off switch so it is never on unless your foot activates it. Remember there have been multiple accidental very quick deaths caused by this device. bB safe out there.
Is your laser a 10 or 20 watt? I'm assuming it's a Xtool D1. What settings did you use?
It's the 10w D1. One of the earlier models.
Was that resin, or some kind of glue you used to mix the powder in the carving?
I used a thin ca glue with the copper powder.
This was a lot of work and very well demonstrated. I am deeply grateful. You did a fine job with that visual cross reference chart! I wonder if sanding first, would make the verdigris stick better without flaking off. Coating on top of flaking will not prevent it flaking off. You have to secure the patina somehow. If you are sick, it is not by chance. Eat right, sleep early and enough, exercise, and take Zinc 50 mg every night. You will never get sick again. Stay away from sugar, sugary things, fruit juice, white refined carbs. Go more Keto.
Great video, super informative. Thank you! Please tell us what model laser you use and what type it is. Thanks!
Thank you! I used the xtool D1 10watt laser.

Finally you discover corona 😅😅😅
Thanks!! great videos and thanks for the GDrive link, very useful
Great video! Thanks for sharing.
for best results use a Viniger %5 aced or higher brush on the copper put Epson salt on that then put the piece in an ammonia-rich atmosphere. This has consistently given me blue to dark blue and sometimes purple results.
For darker blue did you let the copper sit in the ammonia for longer? If so how much longer
it depends on how hot or cold it is at the time but generally a hour or so above the initial developing time the longer you wait the darker it can become@@egadgawegdfwea
Quedo muy bien ese reloj en esa placa ,muy retro
Love the rings ! I make a sprial ring that I sell lots of. I anneal it but only on the back and make sure to do the whole spoon at once, so there isnt any damage spots. Love the hearts and especially the key rings ! Those are really neat !
This is a cool idea. I was thinking of a cheap way to find containers for candle making and I think this could work. One thing that you might want to give a try is dumping the cup upside down so when the glass rapidly cools it will be more likely that the crack will occur at the top and stop at the point where it is scored, which won't matter.
😂😂 Only you !!!❤

Gracias por tomarte el tiempo de compartir lo complicado que puede llegar a aser algo como esto, intentare hacerlo con Arduino uno para ahorrar espacio, luego te comento como me fue, saludos cordiales y gracias por responder.
You are very welcome.
