That's definitely a portion of fish - you should see the size they have up in my chippys . There is 3 chippys in the town- the fish cones off the boats in the harbour ( highlands ) . Still it's 20 spondooleys for fish and chips for about half the size . One chippy has a quote from Rick stein saying its the best fish and chips he's ever tasted . The chippy a few doors down has a picture of Gordon Ramsey with the other 2 chefs posing with the owner. That chippy looks amazing in the video , far better
Id have with clam chowder with it as an american, also i love to fry with onion salt, and have the fish and fries with fry sauce, tartar sauce i even just enjoy them with salt & vinegar as its so delicious. Id enjoy with a pot pie too as you brits will have with sometimes If i had to have with peas itd be with split pea soup but the combination is foreign and unappealing for me Since i was a tyke fried fish with mashed potatoes & gravy has always been my favorite
