01' - 06' Acura MDX rear wiper replacement
The only way to easily replace a rear wiper on a first gen. Acura MDX. Removing wiper arm makes this a lot easier although can done without removal of wiper arm.

A way to discover that doing this job isn't as hard as it seems.
It may be broken fuse too?
It's a pump, not a motor.
Why was the oil cap so dirty
3yrs later. Hows the gearbox doing?
i wanted to see how you got the hoses off.
I seen on another video that it does come off.. You just need to push/ slide the metal frame towards the tip and then pull out: tip end first.. and then push it back towards the pivot. So you just walk one side out and then the other.. tip first... My new replacement was only 16" rather than 18".. and it was slightly skinner at the frame, so I had to fight it a bit to get it back on.. but I did get it to work.. Just don't pay on any of that plastic lug in the center.. None of that comes out; only the metal frame, comes out around it.
I'll link the video below this.. If it's gone: youtube auto- deleted it.

Well done, I'm going to attempt this now
brooo thank u
I think you should explain why you are changing the sensor
Yeah, probably so! Good suggestion, thanks!
I paid $300 to a shop in labor only for the R&R of my CPS on my E46 330i but after watching your video, I'm confident to do it by myself tomorrow on my E60 528i. Thanks for the video brother!
Thanks again for your video. Like you said, 2 hours to R&R. I could not see it at all on my E46 but it's right in front of you in the E60. Have an awesome week.
I replaced a reap wiper blade assembly on a 2006 MDX, today. Simply, by gently lifting the blade cover from the rear glass and noting that the wiper is a traditional or classic metal wiper. I removed the whole 19" wiper assembly leaving the arm and wiper cover on. I just slid the wiper assembly forward with three fingers, then lifted up the forward end and sliding the assembly backward. What remained with the wiper cover were two tabs on a male connector. One tab said, "See manual".
Then why don't you make a video about it instead of trolling 🙄 If it was that easy, then I would have shown that content. You're like the third genius I've dealt with on this issue. BTW, the refills are cheaper and are sold in a bulk package, so it's a better option, wouldn't you agree?
@@chrisdailey9758 Sometimes a few words are all that it necessary. For calling me a troll, I have removed my Like of your video.
@@chrisdailey9758 czcams.com/video/J_ABTtBOjYk/video.html
@@chrisdailey9758 By the way.. We're not trolling you; we're just leaving comments for others to see if they have this problem. I didn't see that other people posted it already, or I wouldn't have bothered.
Bad advice is does come off, you need to lubricate and read the owners manual . I destroyed a wiper and still couldn't put it on the old blade 🤬, be careful but the old blade will come out.
Thanks. I love how you just come right out with "bad advice"! Not everyone has the owners manual or a spare key with a used vehicle. But you destroyed your wiper, but I don't know what I'm talking about. Maybe because my vehicle 240k miles on it, and things just don't work as they should. So you gotta be creative. Refills are cheap, and you can customize them for your vehicle. Thanks for your awesome input!
Just had one come in the shop. It’s not bad advice if it works. Be he’s not wrong it does come out lol some people replace boots not cvs doesn’t mean it’s bad advice.
Chris what were the symptoms of faulty cranshaft sensor?
Thank you so much, I would’ve broken it haha
you don't have to remove the wheel, if your ML or GL is equiped with air suspension. put the vehicle in raised position with air suspension, and turn the wheel all the way to the right. that will give enough clearance to remove the wheel well liner.
The rear wiper can be replaced with a cheap 18 inch wiper. It snaps right into place no problem. Oh and I'm an ASE Certified auto tech
Thanks ASE. Make a video on it.
I love your table for parts and tools ..
Lol yeah that's how good E39 Bimmers are!
Would this sensor cause code 2a98 and 2a99? N54
I really don't remember what the code was, I'm sorry I can't be more helpful.
hello, what are the symptoms of the sensor if it is broken?
It won't start, or if it does start; 5 miles down the road it will go into limp mode. Which is 3rd gear only and almost no power. There's other symptoms, but that's what happened to me.
@@chrisdailey9758 was it not cranking over?
Need help please reply my car threw p0705 code on my generic scan took car went into limp my dumb self turned it off at Walmart parking lot could this be this issue it's being weird changing gears never had issues before with gearbox on my scan tool it says transmission range sensor
Worse video I’ve ever watched
Theres another vid here on tube that shows how to release the wiper blade to not use refills. Its not too hard and cant damage unless you do it wrong and forcefully. Size 19 rear wiper blade replacement. The wiper blade is direct connect wiper arm. Old school
Link?
czcams.com/video/CaLqg_sKZig/video.htmlsi=Fmu9UW0MJfaA_Lbl
It took a couple of tries but eventually i got it off. Good luck
Great video! What size the rear wiper blade?
18" Bosch recommended by AutoZone. Just got one.
The book I checked specified the Michelin 18 inch. You have to remove the blade and put it into the wiper arm. Now that I've done it, is recommend the 19 inch. The stock Acura blade is about 18.5", the 18 is just a little short (¼") but will probably work
This is really cool! How do you charge the battery?
You have to use a 12v car battery charger. That's the only down side because those can cost some money. $50 - $60
Glad I found this everyone is talking about it being some sort of nightmare job
Exactly! That's the reason I did this video. I got halfway through it and I was like, this is it?! So I grabbed my S7 and started filming.
Helpful hint: 24 volts strips the gearbox!
He said, "but damn... never had so many problems.." 🤣🤣 I feel the exact same about my e90
Love you bro😭
I got a p0300 code, and i have misfires in all cylinders, which i goes i to limp mode I got 12th injectors but as far as that, theres no smoke out the back, luckily NO fuel smell on the sparkplugs when i pulled it out New plugs and coil from Bmw dealership Thats all i did so far but idk
Did u disconnect the battery before taking it out?
No that isn't necessary.
Fcp euro has one that says it will fit but so does carparts.com for more than half the price
I got mine from Car Quest. I originally got it from Rockauto.com, but it failed 2 days later. So to save time I went to Car Quest and it has been working great to this day.
I highly recommend FCP, but if you have a Car Quest in your area; they have been specializing in European parts and can get it to you that same day or the next.
Where did you get your crankshaft sensor from?
Fcpeuro
Thank you for making it look fairly simple 👌🏼
Good job,!
I did mine last week. It was easy.. going from the top.. i have a long extension.. dont over think it folks.. i did zip tie all of the wires out of the way for clearance but that was about it.
Just curious, how long did it take you and did you have to take the intake manifold off?
@@tazmaniandiva7762 no need to take it off
@@matt_s0mm85 dang, wish i could find someone like you here in Seattle. Every mechanic so far has said that it has to come off. Tfs
@@tazmaniandiva7762 are you doing it your self ? I just did mine and it took about an hour
@@matt_s0mm85 I wish, sadly I don't know the first thing about car repairs.
I am fighting with this one at the moment :D Good idea to push and screw, cuz mine doesnt seat as well
Yeah, I had to find out the hard way. Putting some oil on the O ring helps as well.
@@chrisdailey9758Yeah, tried with wd40 seal lubricant, but I didn't try your method :)
"Which needs to be changed" I caught that. 😆
Yeah lol, and its still not changed. Super easy to do, just haven't done it. Thanks for the reminder.
Thanks for the tip bro.
You're welcome man!
I got the p2a94, p3100 codes after installing my charge pipe, BOV and jb4. Upon inspection I guess I accidentally pulled out the connector. Took me about 35 minutes just to plug the connector back on. Tight fit.
Thanks chris im gonna send it tomorrow
Ty for the video.had my 335 n54 since 57k miles and 6 years later i am at 174k and last night my car started shutting off and going into limp mode. Ordering sensor now
thanks Chris appreciate the video.
10/10 video thanks
