Yeah conquest was a great game i've been wanting a sequel ever since it was extremely memorable however honestly I don't think they would be able to capture the magic that made the first game so good and for sure they would go 3D with it if they were to but seeing how ... "high quality" the main games are I think it might be better they just leave it in the past with the exception of virtual console which i could see probably on the switch 2's online service or something

Wanted to clarify some thoughts I don't feel like I got across very well during the podcast (and I even had notes! Man, I suck) I do enjoy the game & think it's fun & great. My stance on leaving the honeymoon phase is simply stop calling it the best game ever or best game of college football. Pieces are there to build upon it for great games year after year. My personal issues in the grand scheme, are small. Besides the staggering, I think that's a legit issue but should be able to fix with some updates hopefully. Excited for the future of college football gaming!

I have the homecoming edition and it’s bullish…. You get a code for $150. The issue is that when you select the version you want and when you check out you get charged taxes. For me it’s $8 in tax. The problem is that, taxes are already paid when it’s preordered at GameStop. Mind you that version is $230. So it’s like getting taxes for $230 and $150 . I’ve been trying to get a hold of someone at Sony since I got the game

The first game Atreus was cool, but was bad in Raggy

I hate Atreus especially in Ragnarok. He's so unbelievably self-centered and arrogant, everything has to go exactly his way or he throws a temper tantrum. Almost every single major issue that happens in Ragnarok including Ragnarok itself is because of Atreus. Other people are constantly having to clean up his mistakes or suffers the consequences for them instead of him. Playing as him is also a slog and always boring. I cannot stand Atreus. I got so irritated when he said "I didn't want this" in the final act. YES YOU DID THAT'S LITERALLY THE WHOLE POINT OF YOU SAVING TYR YOU DUMBASS. I cannot stand his character. Every single time something doesn't go his way he just runs away from it. It drives me insane, I cannot stand him. Atreus is the real villain of Ragnarok is you actually think about it. All the Gods that die all the people who suffer all the chaos that is caused is all because of his actions.

I LOVED the original games, all of them, but Jaffe comes off as a manchild who's upset HIS character is getting so much love in a game HE didn't make. It was obvious when his first complaint was Kratos becoming a "family man" when his ENTIRE FUCKING JOURNEY in the original series was to AVENGE HIS FAMILY WHOM HE LOVED. Kratos has always been a family man, getting old and having a LIVING kid just mellowed him out.

2018 atreus is peak, but Ragnarok made me kinda hate him, his lore is quite interesting but rather than the giant stuff I would rather see him encounter Athena, and she manupulates him into coming to Greece, maybe meet his sister and all that.

Exactly and some thought this would win Game of the Year? I would rather die more times then Kai Cenat on Live stream playing Elden Ring then to ever play Atreus again.

I don’t care much for Atreus as a character, but I appreciate what he adds to the overall story in terms of how Kratos learns to be a better father and a better person. It’s interesting watching their dynamic and how it affects everyone else. I remember not enjoying his combat as much as Kratos, but the story is what really kept me invested in the game and made playing as him worth it to me. I can understand where a lot of people are coming from when they say they don’t like Atreus, but a part of me wonders if this wasn’t the writers intentions to some degree considering he’s still a kid. I don’t think he’s necessarily a bad character, but I think it might have been a poor decision to play as him. I think I would have preferred to play the entire game from Kratos’s perspective as it maintains that feeling of being a father, plus the game is ultimately about him. THE God of War.

Atreus is awesome and I was sad to see him go. I actually hope they don't age him up too much in the next game, I like him being young and working with Kratos. Next game should be like 6 months to a year later. Atreus comes back with some Giants, the giants actually know about the mask and the rift and what's that's all about and starts the next storyline that will cross multiple pantheons.

I like how they made kratos grow and learn from his past but at the same time i still wanna see those times where he lashes out in boss battles like in The heimdal fight when he beat his face into the dirt and or when he knocked thors tooth out as for atreus he is a ok character i don't mind him can't wait to see what is like in the next installment

Atreus and freya were annoying as fuck in Ragnarok. I loved them in 2018. But ragnarok seemed like Disney wrote most of it. Even Kratos has gotten a touch of Disney treatment. I will say though, the DLC redeemed it for me.

Atreus using only a bow is a mistake. He's a shapeshifter and can be a smart warrior with a dagger or a sword. Bow makes him unpleasant to play and he has no effect to the story with his powers except transforming to a bear in rage attacks. No mechanics at all. I hope they change this in next game.

I liked his character. In 2018 he was misbehaved and annoying, which is exactly what he should be, because he was a child and a big part of the game was the dynamic between Atreus the innocent child who is largely ignorant of the world and needs to be protected, and Kratos the redeemed savage, who is walking the line between being a good and understanding father who wants the best for his son and tries to nurture him and keep him safe, and a strict parent that is trying to instill obedience so his son can be independent and strong at the risk of the boy becoming like the father. It's such an integral part of the story and that's where all the emotional weight of the story comes from. In ragnarok, he is a rebellious teenager that feels undermined by his dad. The new dynamic here is Kratos learning to trust Atreus and letting him spread his wings, while Atreus learns to also trust his father and the wisdom that he can offer through experience. The story in these games would have been much more lackluster if Atreus was obedient and competent, half the game would have just been gone. Even worse would be if they made Atreus a badass, because Kratos learning to navigate his son, who is the complete opposite of him physically and mentally, is absolutely core to the story. That being said, if they make a 3rd game where Atreus is in adulthood, NOW would be the time to make him a more badass character, because we've concluded his childhood and the dynamic between him and his father has reached its resolution. A new arc to the story would now be able to focus on something else, leaving Atreus as a more flexible character to explore.

Combat wise its easily best of the three. The amount of dialogue is an absolute slog at points. The character design is great as well.

Do we really need David Jeff to tell us the obvious? Atreus is a terrible character, he's boring and obnoxious at the same time. I assure that most people who like and defend him online also believe that the last 2 installments are flawless.

One of the most interesting characters in the Norse games, it’s not all about gameplay. It’s really interesting to see this option but I don’t see any super good points about why he’s bad other than his gameplay. Maybe I’m just bias🤷

He has one dimensional combat when compared to Kratos, I understand he can't have 3 legendary weapons. But give us more than 3-4 melee combos, 2 special attacks and a summon.

Your opinion on VR is hogwash. People like you give VR a bad name. I’ve tried all the headsets and always come back to PSVR2 for its game quality. Even No Man’s Sky is better on PSVR2 with haptics and eye tracking-no other platform immerses you like this kit. Building a PC and getting a Quest for top-quality games would cost a fortune and still not match the experience. PSVR2 has over 200 games, most of which are excellent, in just a year and a half. Plus, I can now plug it into a PC.

Yeah it's a pain in the ass but it's fun once you find the weapons and armor you like, fall deaths trying to jump from a cliff edge to something else and just barely missing it then dying

People hyped about this just because Zelda's name is in the title are fake fans. That title only refers to the first two games. The Zelda in the title is the sleeping one in Zelda 2 because there is an actual legend around her, explaining why all the girls keep getting named Zelda. It doesn't refer to any of the others, the title just stuck as the series grew. It is her legend, but Link is the hero of it. By having her be playable and being the hero it invalidates Link, robs him of his purpose and could be the start of replacing him in his own series.
