I drove the exact same year bus in this video, same make/ mod l aswell in CT. Hearing those bendix air brakes release that sound brings back memories. Great to remember the early days of bus driving.

I have a story regarding this bus. I remember one evening me and my mom went to Willow Lawn and we were about to hop on the 6 to head back downtown. Bus 109 was in front and 501 was behind it. Me being a bus fanatic as a kid, wanted to ride 501 instead, I made an excuse to ride 501. I said “hey ma lets ride this bus (501) because that bus (109) too crowded.” She said “lawd boy come on here”. And we hopped on it and came downtown. I filmed it on my old Galaxy but my files got corrupted and I lost all my videos of buses. Im glad we did ride 501 because that would’ve been the last time I did since it retired soon after
