You have a wonderful variety in your garden. Hope you don't mind a suggestion: one reason they're stunted is that they're all competing for nutrients because of all the crab grass and other "weeds" surrounding them. If you mulch around them after getting rid of the weeds, they may improve a great deal. Happy gardening!! 🌻
@@wildwaning9427 Oh yes, I’ve been very bad about weeding this year. I don’t mention it in every video, but I’m roughly 5 months pregnant so the heat and bending down to weed everything just isn’t happening this year. I have plans for next year to staunch some of the weeds.

29:49 I'd guess the other spot doing bad has a compaction issue.
@@georgecarlin2656 yeah, that area I didn’t dig out too deep. Gourds are usually pretty durable, I wasn’t too worried. If I recall correctly, that’s a sweetnut acorn, they all did very poorly, I won’t be growing them again.
Your garden looks good. That's alot of work to keep going.
@@itwillgroweventually at this point the biggest struggle is not melting in the heat!! Hopefully today was the last day in the 90s 🤞I usually go out after 7:30pm when the trees shade the garden.

I did not actually get any of the skin. Most hogs come with the animal skinned. This is perhaps so they do not have to remove the hair. The only cuts that have ANY skin are the smoked hocks.
Hopefully the raspberries will come back for you next year.

Is there any way I can grow green onions during the winter here in KS? Thank you.
I've looked into this for my own interests, and from what I've found, the inhibitor is the short daylight hours. Onions are very daylight sensitive, so I bet you could grow them hydroponically inside with lights, but not outside. I personally do not want to get into hydroponics due to moisture content in my home, plus having cats indoors.
And since this video went out, my green onions have gotten lethal cold damage, they're just all mushy. They had been starting to produce a little bit of green, but the combination of cold and short days really destroyed them.
