    You've got the right idea. We have a similar end result, the difference being I built an elevated storage platform that extends to the seats. A piece of ply bridges the storage platform to sit atop the seat that's compressed flat with a ratchet strap. I use 4" foam cushions, sleeps 1 or 2. The end result is a 6-4 bed, exactly what you have only the seat flips back up when not a bed. Works great! Gotta love stealth.

    Who goes on a hike/exploring and doesn't even take a flashlight? More than likely didn't have any survival gear that every person should pack even when going on a simple hike just in case anything happens. But to actually head out on a search for the purpose of recording a CZcams video exploring for lost structures with nothing but probably their phone to record and maybe a plastic bottle of water is totally ridiculous. What a example of what should never be done and total lack of good judgement. I would not even loaded this video so any person who watched would not know how foolish, unprepared and see someone who is not thinking or using any sound judgement.

    • @yourdesertrambler
      @yourdesertrambler Před 3 měsíci

      Thanks for your concern. If you notice, the "walled" looking structure is right next to Hwy 190 and walking distance to Furnace Creek. Not much danger. Also notice in the video that the tunnels were a complete surprise, but I did have my full survival pack with me, which you can see in the video when I set it down. In that pack is a 2 gallon collapsible water carrier, which you can see how that works in my video about said survival pack. I did have a headlamp with me but the candle power of it did not help and it caused fluttering on camera. BTW, the camera is a Hero 11, but they aren't good in low light. So thanks for the concern and I hope you continue to enjoy the videos.

    Interesting video...i have just gone through a similar exercise to produce a slimmed down tool kit, although mine is for general road use rather than hard core off roading.. I honestly think you could cut that down by a third and still be prepared. Would that breaker bar replace the wheel nut wrench? I would not bother with most of those adjustable wrenches including the pipe wrenches...I would replace those with three conventional open ended wrenches (probably Bahco)..they must be open ended though, as they will allow you to access nuts in more restriced places. I think you could do with some small combination spanners for things like battery terminals ect I would slim down the electrical tools, and replace those auto wire strippers with more conventional ones..The trouble with the auto strippers is you need quite a long length of wire to be able to feed it in. With conventional strippers you can always hold the stub of wire being stripped with a needle nose. You don't really need the test lamp and the multimeter and the multimeter is by far the most versatile of the two testers... I would ditch the hose clamp pliers as you can use the vise grips instead. The tubing cutter looks way too big for typical brake tubing, and if you intend to cut and join that sort of tubing you will need flaring tools ect. I would also ditch the strap wrenches and just carry the chain wrench and also loose that knife... What's missing? I would add: A 1/4" and 3/8" universal joints... Extra long heavy duty jump leads and/or small Li-ION jumper pack. Work light and head lamp. Tire pressure gauge. Spark plug socket. Inspection mirror Magnetic pick up tool. Stanley knife and spare blades. 6'x4' tarp to lie on ect. Croc clips for the multimeter. Possibly a small grease gun for suspension work ect... To help keep things organised, I would recommend a spanner ring or large alloy carabiner to hold your ring/combination spanners. Rails for you sockets...

    This is pretty cool. Love the numbers stating elevations and mileages. Especially in lmperial units. I was once on the trail leading north from Dantes View and with a map showing elevations calculated the length of my sightline down to the parking lot of Badwater. It was something like 14,000 feet.
