As an elf coach I certainly wouldn't mind that! 3+ passing definitely would let them get SPP a bit quicker which might annoy other teams. But it's very risky to farm passes in most situations on a 3+ - inaccurate throws often end up places opponents can get them

I remember one coach calling him 'We have Hakflem at home' and ever since that's who Scrappa is in my head 😂

It's been a journey since launch alright. But I've enjoyed the last two seasons since the wood elf launch and this next one does look like it could be another really nice step forward 🤞

My first game in the local tabletop league last season was against slann and started with them getting a blitz. Catchers hopped straight over the line. 'Oh well, at least the kick is out of range for them', I think. Opponent: 'Ok, so now I use diving catch' Me: 👁️👄👁️

@@misspelledtree155 😮 They cheated!!! Diving Catch specifically says it cannot be used to catch a ball in the opponents half during a kick-off. It's designed so you can catch a kick that lands along the LOS. But the trade off is that you don't get it during a Blitz.

I drew vs greenskinphill a very good slann coach, in round 16 when he had to few frogs left to one tuen and did not get a riot, I told him to gang foul my wraith, he looked me dead in the eye and said "Frogs don't kill people, thanks for the game" and shook my hand. Probably my best game at pierbowl :), frogs are fun and stressfully to play against like vampires.

@@JanCRefsgaard In my current tabletop league, I'm sitting at 6-1-0 and the only undefeated team. But my casualties are at 1-12. Frogs in fact, do not kill people :P

If cash was a concern I wouldn't do it. But I find my teams make so much money every game in this edition that even with low armour elves I end up with more of it than I need (in fact I often burn some between games to avoid the risk of catastrophic expensive mistakes). And if money is no object it's definitely better not to have the niggle on a 0spp lineman. Otherwise, maybe it gets a good random level later, then you have a player you care about who is more likely to die. When you could have just had the same player without an injury!

Me too! It's honestly the most fun I've had on a run in ages and, no spoilers, there's quite a few more games to come. 🙂 I'm actually wondering whether to speed up the upload schedule as it's only seven days till the next season launches on BB3. But either way next one at 7pm UK time tonight (when this one was originally meant to launch 😅)!

@@misspelledtree155 cant remember when, my point is in generally a 3+ Dodge to get a a 2d block less blocks is risking 2 1:9 armor rolls for a 5:9 to pow and thus armor roll on an orc with 2.5 times as high armor so you have the same probability of getting a casualty, as him, but he had a bench and it was late in the drive

The problem is, he really needs to get recovery as well as the sack (he needed a win to qualify, but even if only playing for a draw it's too easy for me to pick up again on a 2+). So I think it would be a 4+ and a 5+ to get the 1D hit from the right direction (pushing the ball back down the pitch).

Pretty much this! It's an inexact science knowing exactly when to buy the last positionals I think - my ideal elven union team has all four catchers, but every time you bump the TV up you also invite higher TV spins in the ladder. And being honest I probably haven't played enough games with this team in this ladder yet to feel totally sure of what's right on that front. There will come a tipping point where I want to just lean into the TV bloat and make the best team possible but we're not quite there yet

They cost 20k extra out of your redraft budget at the point when you buy them back but their TV cost doesn't change on the roster afterwards. I did a video at the end of the first season showing my redraft which might show a bit better how it works! czcams.com/video/0Vweq4UlBNs/video.html

Obviously for team development it's better not to have teams die, but I think these games where it's just 'all in for the win and it doesn't matter who survives' are some of the most fun ones in Blood Bowl 💪

@@saddonkey4499 I think it's because block modifies the block dice and allows a rerolls when you dodge, I think the text is referring to the make a dodge and not the block part

Page 77 of the rules have two sections on tackle: When an opposing player makes a dodge... Additionally, when... Block action....

I've heard people say before that they would like to see block split into two skills - one offensive and one defensive. Would be super interesting to try that and see how it works, because it is such a good skill.

Yeah, the prone player is such an interesting conundrum. You can never put it there deliberately, and lots of opponents will just foul it off with no consequences to them. But if it does stay there it becomes something strangely helpful to the team on offence.

I think you exactly said it right with 'the hardest part is not to react'. But it is tricky - once a player gets knocked down it's not necessarily easy to just reset to the same screen you had before (I played a tournament recently as nobility and had a skaven team dakka against me so it was fascinating to see from the other side!)

I agree witht his completely - just going through the teams and trying to show a bit more logic to the costs would go such a long way for me.
