Reality hit, Africans are takers, not givers. There is no reciprocal. I'm in Egypt, where I control everything. Nobody is in my pocket unless I initiate it. I was open to Sub-Saharan African friendships in the beginning. I ghosted them if they asked me for money or embarrassed me with their behaviour. Nice if they think they are getting what they want, nasty if not getting it. There is a reason the continent has been poor for thousands of years. It's their mentality.

The colonizer comment holds weight. We come from the diaspora and use our financial muscle to buy up the best land, we price the local people out of their neighbourhoods. We dont mix, we drive expensive cars, our kids go to better resourced international schools, we start businesses and complain about local workers.... Anythibg ive left out? You need to recognise the issues, having Ghanaian parents doesnt lessen your privelege over local people.
Everything you just said, is a generalization, I know tons of local people who started businesses here in Ghana, and tons of local people who have had the opportunity to travel abroad and do the same thing I am doing returning back home. I went this past summer in Accra. For both my daughter and myself with waist length med/small knotless, I paid in total the equivalent of 26 usd. That was 3-4 braiders at once. They were beautiful and did a great job. 💛
