I’ve worked with Piper before, in the mid 2000’s; she’s so talented, has a wonderful eye and great direction…a natural in everyway ❤She also took a few candid photos of my beloved soul cat, Olive, which remains dear to my heart. 3:30 Re: Strategies for song writing. Was it just ignorance of songwriting and music conceits that lead to "postpunk/indie" music in late 70's/80's/90's? Wasn't it a conscious rejection of music cliches and formalism? Songwriting in the 50's/60's was so much more sophisticated because writers could unapologetically borrow from an encyclopedia of blues, jazz, folk songbook traditions. By the late 70's, so much had already been done with the blues form, it seemed hopelessly stale.
