Also in my own personal opinion, if I had to decide which one was better between melody and harmony, I would choose both. The melody of a song sounds nice and all, but in most cases, I found out that in order for a song to sound beautiful, it often needs the harmony mixed in with it. So I'm in favor of both parts, though I strongly prefer singing the melody of a song, rather than the harmony.

Man, if Jim Papoulis himself could have played the piano for my chorus, whenever we sang his song "Give us hope", I would feel so deeply honored! We'd be on the news and in the papers! Depew High School's SSA chorus sings beautiful song "Give us hope" by Jim Papoulis, and is deeply honored by having Jim Papoulis himself there, as an honored guest pianist! The writer and composer of the song himself! This chorus here must have been just as honored, having Jim Papoulis himself be their pianist for one of his own songs, as I would be if he had done it for our chorus. : D

I finally found the videos where they do it piece by piece. Woo hoo! I also like how they show the part of music that matches that vocal part, so then you can see just how different all the parts would appear separately, on printed sheet music. For example, for the one of the parts (Alto 2/Tenor or Bass, I can't remember which), there was a small number 8 directly underneath the treble clef.

By the way: where's the video, where they teach you how to sing Give Us Hope, part by part?

We would always love singing this in chorus, back in high school in Depew, NY. Immediately after this, we would sing another chorus favorite: The Prayer!

Hello, we are NDI seniors and Allum and we would just like to say that this dance was made for a flash mob and for people that may not be dancers. We do regular dances, and if you want to see us dance come to a show or search up national dance institute and inner visions. We do have "regular dances" K BYE.

I am in the YPC. I have been singing give us hoe ever since I was in third grade. Give us hope is an emotional song for a lot of the choristers. I suggest that you don't do the freestyle part because it really distracts you form the true meaning of the song.
