Model Railroad modular benchwork made easy
This is how I design and make my modules for the layout. I use the same design both for HO scale and Oscale modules.
Tools I use:
Hikoki drill
Hikoki 18 volt hand held router
Hikoki circle saw
Hikoki Jig saw
Bosch Drill Press
Dewalt saw
The concept table was originally designed in Fusion 360. It has no other practical usage than to visualize how the end result should look and to have a reality check on wether my design is sane. it's cheaper to make mistakes in Fusion 360 than in expensive lumber.

Choosing a track plan for small O scale switching layout
zhlédnutí 151Před měsícem
I'm really struggeling to choose a good track plan. I have a few candidates. It need to be modular, less than four meters (12 feet), and still be fun to operate. Let me know if you have any thoughts. Personal preference is track plan number 5 0:00 Intro 0:45 Track plan 1 0:55 Track plan 2 1:09 Track plan 3 1:20 Track plan 4 1:35 Track plan 5

The engine is very similar to LAG 4 and LAG 5 built by Siemens in 1922 and by Maffei in1930 for Lokalbahn AG. They have been renumbered E 69 04 and E 69 05 by DRG and later, DB
@@tamara2332 interesting. Thank you for the info
Work never stops, happy hobby👍🚂😊🌟⭐
This is absolutely true.
In most cases, a full frame lens on APS-C body is better than a crop lens on an APS-C body. The main benefit is in corner sharpness as well as the flatness of the focal plane. A larger full frame lens will often have the sweet spot of the lens covering most to all of the APS-C sensor.

Why not base (100 for this camera) ISO? Just, why? That's the standard procedure, especially given your set-up.
mainly because we didn’t look for lens quality, only possible crop factor issue
I'm sorry, but I don't understand the purpose of this video. Your comparison and conclusion make no sense at all. Please conduct more research on a topic before attempting to explain something that you haven't understood yourself. I believe the issue lies in your understanding of focal length (in mm) in relation to the size of the sensor and their effects on the field of view (in degrees). Firstly, a 50mm lens, regardless of whether it's designed for a full-frame, APS, or any other sensor size, when mounted on an APS sensor, will always provide the same field of view. This means there will be no crop difference. The only reason you may have observed any kind of crop differences in your test is due to slight variations in the actual focal length (you were not precisely at 50mm), which can occur due to reasons such as inaccurate zoom settings or focus breathing, for example. You can observe the 1.5x crop factor when you mount the same full-frame lens at the same focal length first on a full-frame sensor and then on a crop sensor. That is where the crop comes into play. Yes, you can use a full-frame lens on a crop sensor. Often, you can also use a crop lens on a full-frame sensor, but you may experience heavy vignetting. And no, you will not have a crop factor when using a full-frame lens on a crop sensor compared to when using a crop lens with the same focal length. However, no one ever claimed that you would. So, you didn't debunk anything, and there was no misleading information. You are the one misleading. PS: Please don't leave two audio tracks from different mics in the edit. Just remove the one that is worse after syncing; it creates a horrible echo 0:28

purpose of the video was to improve my editing skills (like deleting redundant audio) plus to actually check wether a full frame lens gives a crop factor. I have been recomended to not buy full frame for my ZV-e10, and googling the topic gives no clear answer, but after this test I conclude that I should go for the full frame lens
Good job!
Thanks a lot!
Are you still using the products from MGP Mollehem? Have you purchased more of them since the initial purchase?
Yes. I have purchased three additional larger batches. ca 20 servo decoders, 10-15 panel decoders, and 10-15 signal decoders and additional track detectors pluss tons of accessories (led distribution controllers and servo kables etc). You can say I went al inn. I've tested lots of different decoders and MGp is by far the most easy setup I've tried. The fact that it also is controllable via Z21 app makes everything so much easier for me
@@nordvesterdalmodelrailroad thanks for the information. They seem like they would be a good ft for me, I just wanted to find some actual users. Did you buy them direct or through a retailer?
Directly. They are fast. I got my packages usually within 10 ten days (Sweden to Norway), and they also subtract swedish tax for sales to foreign countries (at least for the nordics). I would recomend one of their starterpacks. @@HumancityJunction

Where can I find the code and do you have a parts list
github.com/einjen/turntable1 Unfortunately this is not the finished code, but should work on a regular arduino uno You need a dual axis ps2 joystick for steering. a tb6600 stepper driver a stepper motor that suits you. (I used a mc lennan stepper motor 12v, but I also tested with nema17 regular chinese stepper motor (much cheaper) and it work well also. If you want more fine grained control, you need a gearbox (and gears that match the stepper motor.
Do you have the Mollehem turntable decoder ? If yes, how do you setup the sensor ?
I bought some servo and switch decoders from them and programmed them with JMRI. Works perfect. I use MTB MP1 Switch motors and homemade servos for controlling the switches.. too bad they dont make track occupy sensor modules.. would be a great addition on loconet
they have occupancy detectors. Two types: www.mollehem.se/index.php/en/control-and-electronics/sp%C3%A5rdetektering-5-detail this one can connect to your decoders
This is the other type: www.mollehem.se/index.php/en/control-and-electronics/detectdiode-8-detail It connects to the signal decoder of your choice. You may connect two detectors per decoder. You can see it in action in my video here: czcams.com/video/7aOURUU12wU/video.html
Perhaps a better view here, where the track detection work together with the signal decoder to change aspect signal czcams.com/video/sz90hPl3fww/video.html

Thats amazing..
Ok now thats cool, my panel can not compete..
That's very generous of you. Unfortunately for me it can compete:) What my video does not show is that the printed layout is really bad. I will make my next panel the same way you did
Just one hint, that nervous close-up camera makes me dizzy, it is tiring to the human eye and doesn't help in any way. It is better to do a pan shot and point at the several turnouts and thus direct the focus of attention of the viewer. If you don*t want to be in the picture, just use a pointing device. Sorry, but I didn't survive this video until further in...
Thanks. I will try to improve as I go along all this making video stuff is new to me
Hi, I’m in Canada and I use MGP’s hardware also. I like it very much since it used loconet. I’m glad I found your site. I have not found any English speaking MPG user site. I hope you make many videos on MGP, wiring and programming.
Thanks a lot :) I try to make videos. I thougth I had filmed an entire two hour session last week, on how I make my MGP panels, but it turned out I somehow had not pushed the "record" button in the video recorder app on the phone. I will do better next time.
Hello, I just found the MGP items and I am interested in them but not finding a lot of information. How did you order them and get them in North America?
Skøn video :)
Skønt tog også :)
Can it be too narrow for the front wheels?
I've gotten advise to check for consistent heigth troughout the curve just before the turnout. Work for tomorrow
