Lyrics:
Love this time of year
It seems to bring us near
I wish Christmas was every day
There's somethin' about those lights
On that tree at night
Feelin' you girl, next to me
Oh baby, baby the way we kiss
Under the mistletoe
A laugh, like little children
Makin' angels in the snow
Well, it's in your eyes and in your smile it shows
That this very special time of year
It seems to set your heart a glow
Oh, sing it with me, baby
Oh, it's Christmas, you know it's Christmas
And it's our favorite time of year
Bells will be ringin', our hearts are singin'
Well, I'm glad it's Christmas time once again
The city's lit up bright on this starry night
But there's somethin' left to do
Go home and light a fire, tell me your heart's desire
Wrap me up, take me away
Oh, when I'm with you darlin'
There's so much love that I want to share
I know you feel it too
There's magic in the air
And in this, sweet, sweet memories
We share together
They're gonna last us now
Now and for ever, for ever and ever
Oh, it's Christmas, you know it's Christmas
And it's our favorite time of year
Bells will be ringin', our hearts are singin'
Well, I'm glad it's Christmas time once again
Oh, it's Christmas, you know it's Christmas
And it's our favorite time of year

To the men of Alamo!
Heart wrenching sadness, what a piece of music from master Dimitri Tiomkin. Unforgettable. I actually cry whenever I listen to brilliant score.
❤😊
How does a person think it’s good to keep alive something in a dark cage? While they live?😮😢 Is that what they call a dark soul?
My all time favorite John Wayne movie. 👍🏼👍🏼 I love this song.
What great voices the Addrissi's had! They were also excellent songwriters.

One of my younger sisters live in San Antonio and I live close to San Jacinto Monument. When my great grandparents came over from Bohemia with my grandpaw he was 3 years old and they docked in Galveston’Tx in the late 1800’s. There is land in Inez’Texas that is being farmed and ranched that was handed down. ❤❤❤I love listening to Marty Robbins.

2024?
Some people say a man is made outta mud A poor man's made outta muscle and blood Muscle and blood and skin and bones A mind that's a-weak and a back that's strong You load 16 tons, what do you get? Another day older and deeper in debt St. Peter, don't you call me 'cause I can't go I owe my soul to the company store I was born one mornin' when the sun didn't shine I picked up my shovel and I walked to the mine I loaded 16 tons of number nine coal And the straw boss said, "Well, a-bless my soul" You load 16 tons, what do you get? Another day older and deeper in debt St. Peter, don't you call me 'cause I can't go I owe my soul to the company store I was born one mornin', it was drizzlin' rain Fightin' and trouble are my middle name I was raised in the canebrake by an ol' mama lion Can't no high toned woman make me walk the line You load 16 tons, what do you get? Another day older and deeper in debt St. Peter, don't you call me 'cause I can't go I owe my soul to the company store If you see me comin', better step aside A lotta men didn't, a lotta men died One fist of iron, the other of steel If the right one don't get you Then the left one will You load 16 tons, what do you get? Another day older and deeper in debt St. Peter, don't you call me 'cause I can't go I owe my soul to the company store

If you visit the Alamo and see how small the church is, it's amazing to think of these men holding back such an incredible force whilst barricaded in such a small area

I wonder if this song would have been so well loved if it was called Seagull.
So sorry for you.

B.J. Thomas🎤📻🎺 Raindrops are falling on my head And just like the guy whose feet are too big for his bed Nothing seems to fit Those raindrops are falling on my head, they keep falling So I just did me some talking to the sun And I said I didn't like the way he got things done Sleeping on the job Those raindrops are falling on my head, they keep falling But there's one thing I know The blues they send to meet me Won't defeat me, it won't be long Till happiness steps up to greet me Raindrops keep falling on my head But that doesn't mean my eyes will soon be turning red Crying's not for me 'Cause I'm never gonna stop the rain by complaining Because I'm free Nothing's worrying me It won't be long till happiness steps up to greet me Raindrops keep falling on my head But that doesn't mean my eyes will soon be turning red Crying's not for me 'Cause I'm never gonna stop the rain by complaining Because I'm free Nothing's worrying me
As a Texan, O can't listen to this song without weeping. There was a time when a man would stand, fight, and if necessary, die for what he believed in. I pray that there are still people in this country that used to be called "AMERICANS". I jope they're still out there somewhere...
This was played at my Brother Kevins Funeral & I choose it for my beloved Son Liams recent Funeral ..Beautiful & Heartbreaking at the same time R.i.P ❤❤

The other side of this is an uncomfortable one. Santa Anna was following the conventions of war, and Travis was not. Sieges in those days were terribly bloody fights. It was customary to give the defenders of a fortress the opportunity to withdraw, because it would coat the attackers dearly to take it. For this reason the defenders would often be cruelly slaughtered when the fortress finally fell, as happened here. Same with the Irish at Drogheda. Cromwell (and I’m no fan of him) gave the Irish the opportunity to surrender and withdraw. They refused and were slaughtered when the English took the town. War is an ugly business, and atrocities occur. When the one side gambles and breaks the rules, they have only themselves to thank if the victors get a little overly exuberant.
i looooove this song, i will update once i go there🙂
