This is a performance of Honeysuckle Rose by the trumpet summit live at Jazz á Viene. For now I've only transcribed Roy's solo but I plan on doing the rest soon. I borrowed the changes from the real book, so I apologize for any confusion about which chords are actually being played.

I always thought of measure 7 as Dbmaj7(#9)
congratulations for the transcription work, certainly an excellent ear training exercise. Unfortunately, for the purposes of learning how to improvise, it is absolutely useless work if the chords are not also transcribed (in consideration of which the soloist is improvising!)
He likes that 16th note triplet followed by an 8th. ........☺

In the second bar of the A section, he plays Bbm7 several times (meas. 10, 34, 42, 57).
Sounds a bit clumsy, like he isn't really playing the changes. 🤷♂️
The authentic changes aren't quite what's in the real book but then again IDK what's going through his mind.
a lot of times on the a sections he was playing Abm7-Db7 on the 3rd and 4th bars instead of the regular changes

@@mirandatowler4110 Yea, I was trying to figure out why it was in Bb with notes outside of the range of the saxophone and one octave down, trumpet, duh! Good transposition!
Great transcription !! Where are these chord notations from? They seem to be missing a lot of the harmonic movement and only mentions the V-s but not the II-s.
I used the chords from the real book... they're not what Mulgrew is playing. Maybe one day I'll be good enough to transcribe all of it

Thank you, Miranda. I started playing cornet/trumpet in 2019. I LOVE playing along with the great jazz trumpeters! I keep up about 50% of the time, so far. Gotta slow WAY down (cuz my previously trained major-symphony-French-horn fingers just don't have it yet for the fast passages. Does anybody make a left-handed trumpet with rotary valves? LMAO!!!! Bless you! Great stuff!!!!!!

@@mirandatowler4110 Oh yes I understand your feelings. The video of the concert is frustrating for me, there was so much ! Ricky Wellman was left alone by the band, he did a tune front of 3000 persons, it was incredible. Benny Ritvield made an incredible solo ended by flamenco like guitar. I hope one day all the concert will be released, it will be so great ! PS: the link of your instagram not valuable
