5 Things You Need to Start Cross Stitch
Hello. I have just subscribed. I am getting back into cross stitch after 10 years of almost exclusively quilting.
Thank you for subscribing! And welcome back to the world of cross stitch, we’re glad to have you 😊
So helpful! Thanks for showing your setup!
I’m so glad it was helpful!
Beautiful work! How did you do in the state fair competition?
Thank you! I don’t know the results yet, but hopefully I’ll be able to see this weekend!
I saw one of your shorts a couple of days ago and thanks to you I finally found the courage to buy cross stitching supplies. Your work looks gorgeous 😍
Oh my goodness, this is the best comment I could receive!! I hope you love cross stitching, welcome to the club ♥️
That looks amazing! I don't even have a Nintendo system and want one of those
Thank you!! I'm really happy with how it turned out ♥️
This is gorgeous!!! Where did you get the pattern for it or did you design the pattern yourself? 🥰
I converted pixel art made by Pixel Jess to a pattern for myself (with permission form the artist)
@@nerderbers_stitching oooohhh!!! That's really cool!!! I never thought of that! Pixel art would be a good way to think of patterns for cross-stitch! With artist permission ofc or if you're an artist that knows how to do it yourself 💕
@@jennifercentobene1162 totally! I'm trying to get into pixel art myself, but it's always soooo much slower than I expect it to be
Murphy's Law always comes into play with anything involving Mario Sunshine. The most perfectly imperfect game imaginable.
Haha! I suppose it is fitting 😂
Looks beautiful, love me some Delfino Plaza!
Thank you!
Excellent video❤
I’m glad you liked it!
Can you do a piece that has a circular setting? Basically I am working on a circular kit and wondering if I should leave it in the hoop. Also thank you for these videos
I will add that to my list! I actually have a finished circular piece that I haven’t framed yet in my closet 😂
I'm getting a mic stand! Still on the look out for a floor stand on Ebay, one day I will find an affordable one! The hunt continues! Thanks doll face! Cheers
A mic stand is such a good idea as a substitute for a floor stand! I hope that works well for you 🤞
That is the way I learned how to cross stitch, glad to know it's an actual method.
It seems this is the most common method folks learn!
@@nerderbers_stitching Also a cleaner look in the back!
It's really the only method..there isn't another way
I mostly agree! Except for projects with a lot of confetti stitches or if I'm using variegated thread. Then I think the English method (one stitch at a time) works better for me
What a comfy little video. :) I can't "afford" to add cross-stitch into my troublingly large backlog of arts&crafts projects, so I'll just admire it from this distance. 👋 also YO THAT PROJECT IS MASSIVE. Is that Delfino Plaza?
That's how I feel about crochet! I love seeing what people create, but I don't need a giant collection of yarn in my closet 😅 And yes, it is!! I'm so glad you recognized it ♥️ Based on incredible pixel work and made with permission from the original artist, @pixeljess on IG
When I got into cross stitching I just figured on my own that this would be good as not to get lost. Now it turns out it has a name 😅
I definitely think this method is helpful for keeping track of things! Way easier than counting every single individual stitch 😅
@@nerderbers_stitching by the way, did you think about making a video on taking breaks between colours? I've seen people take a break from a colour by leaving the thread hanging from behind and then coming back to it. I never thought about it myself before I saw it so it could be helpful to people.
Ooh, that’s a great idea! It’s called “parking”, like, parking your thread over in the next place to stitch. I’ll definitely add that to my list of videos to make ♥️
I didn't know that was the name of the method. It's just how my mom taught me. Neat
Your mom taught you well ♥️
Neat! I didn't know that it would make it lie flat. Thank you for the information. Glad i came across your video while scrolling.
I’m so glad it was helpful!
I AM DYING THE NAME IS THE DANISH METHOD…
Yes! Lots of people just think of it as “regular cross stitch” 😂
Great video! Simple and easy to follow ❤
Thank you! Trying to keep it “to the point” but also enough info to be helpful
Speak for yourself, I’ll get those last 2 stitches with my scraggly floss remnants or I’ll die trying
I will admit I’ve done it many times myself. But I started to notice a difference in tension on those stitches, so I try not to!
Welcome to CZcams! This is very cute ♥️ Also, chenille is pronounced “shuh-neel”
Oh gosh, neither of my attempts was correct 🫢🫢
