I think all of us did! I got around 5 m/kWh, but only for the last 50 (of 65 miles), although rest was in London doing about 10 mph 😅

3 Year and 60k miles for the car is standard across other manufacturers, and the battery and motor is 8 year 100k (standard as well). Also, the c-segment hatchback market is limited, and actually I would rather have a hatchback than a crossover. You have the MG4 and the ID.3. I know I have a ZS EV, but even in 2019 for the price you didn't have much of a choice! When Kia/Hyundai eventually bring a similar size hatchback to the Astra I think you are completely right.

Honestly is incredible, and compared to some of the other even hatchback EVs wipes the floor!

Agreed, the bigger battery to 75kWh is to improve the reach, as I mentioned 50kWh really is a sweet spot for this car Some interesting choices from Stellantis though!

I would argue that £27k is about right when the Mk8.5 Golf starts from ~£27k, and frankly I would probably have one of these compared to a Golf. I've been very disappointed with the build quality of the VW cars!

@@KCTalksEV Yeah, I can’t get my head round the price of cars now. Even Dacias are bonkers. I have a 2013 Golf and agree quality isn’t the same now. Used ID3s look better value than same age Golfs but I’m put off by the haptic controls though I haven’t tried one. The ID2 prototype shown last year has the old controls and looks nice too.

I must give the same test to an MEB car soon I reckon!

@@KCTalksEV A 2007 Skoda Roomster. 1.4L petrol. I really want a family EV as my next car but there aren't many MPV style EVs around unfortunately and they all seem to be limited to a max of 50kWh.

That's true, if they could put the 75kWh pack into the E-Berlingo, I reckon they would be onto a winner!

My thoughts exactly! The additional slots is an interesting one because it really allows the quick use of high supply low demand electricity that is wind power.

This may be the case of making it easy for the layperson to determine which combination of your setup is compatible before continuing. By picking your car and your charger it tells you which one it'll be. That may avoid some annoyed people who have switched to Octopus purely for the tariff. I think a table would be good as well however. I know that the Myenergi Zappi and Ohme Pro are supported. Also, I believe they are in very early trials of the GivEnergy EV charger. Which charger do you have?

@@KCTalksEV Rolec Smart with ev.energy. the app is driving me nuts with getting the wrong tariff details, doesn't understand daylight saving and the Rolec sometimes chargers at just 2kW, not the full 7kW... So I'm wondering what one to swap to.... If octopus has a list of compatible chargers it would be easy.

Don't suppose you got this alongside your MG vehicle? I got one and it was throwing a few faults I think a few months after the warranty. I have the Zappi and I know it's compatible according to the website. It's not a looker, but it does the job for IOG. Definitely shop around for one as I think around £1000 fully installed is about as much as I would pay (and I did pay).

@@KCTalksEV yes, got it with the MG :) The install is easy, just replace the Rolec and commission it. Not sure I want to pay £999 though. GivEnergy is about £469 with VAT.

With the new chargers with PEN protection, it's like a plug! I made a mistake buying the Zappi, but I couldn't wait for the GivEnergy charger. If you have the GivEnergy battery system it's a no brainer, but there is no guarantee for IOG to work.

Fair comment, although it only has become on par with ICE. I don't tend to bring the VED into it, the potential savings vs fuelling at home more than make up for it

@@KCTalksEV yes I have been looking at the e deliver 3 as it's range is quite decent and they don't seem to rust to badly . The prob with the old env200 24kwh was its range is tiny :)

Yes the range on the ENV200 is not exactly generous (after watching Ian Sampson's Videos!). I've been considering one for a camper conversion (which I must admit is a fantasy), all plastic body panels and aluminium frame around the body AFAIK. Unsure about the chassis itself, but the vehicle isn't old enough to notice too much yet.

I'm not sure if they're 100% safe, but heat pump tumble dryers tend to have lower temperatures than a heating element. Also, my one has a low temperature setting as well. I guess the only way to find out is to give it a go (and I'm not taking responsibility if it goes wrong!)

Thanks for Watching! Regarding the 35kWh, I think the battery is too small for tradespeople. 50kWh, you have the leeway, which is important. It will work for some, but I think with a ~100 mile range with load it isn't quite enough to give peace of mind in cities. E-NV200 40kWh is a good option, although with the lack of thermal management, anecdotally I've seen some issues crop up. Also, you will find chargers without ChaDeMo now, which isn't the case of CCS. There are sites still being installed with ChaDeMo, but if you want pure flexibility may not be the best.

@@KCTalksEV yes , how much is a 52kw maxis? The 38 is 10k . And env 40 seems to be as little as £8k anythings better than my leaf with only 20kwh capacity now. Having to charge it to 100% all time
