While vacationing and catching a cruise ship in Charleston my family and I toured Fort Sumter. It was the first tour of the day so we got to see and participate in the raising of the flag. The flag is enormous and takes a lot of people to roll it out so it doesn’t touch the ground while being raised. I’m glad I kept the camera going long enough to capture that moment.

While on our way back from Mobile Alabama my family and I stopped at the birthplace of Elvis Presley . It’s a very short drive from the interstate. Although a modest shotgun style house built by his father Vernon it’s definitely worth a visit. It’s a very nice memorial featuring a museum, gift shop and a nice garden grounds walking area.

While in Mobile waiting to get on a Carnival cruise ship we explored the Oakleigh house. It’s a beautiful historic home surrounded by giant Oak trees.

While at the Parke County Covered Bridge festival in Indiana we explored several bridges. This one is called Jackson Bridge and was built in 1861. What makes this bridge stand out a little from most of the other 30 or so in the county is the fact that it’s painted white where most of the others are red . It almost looks like a long skinny house. It’s also one of the oldest.

While at The Covered Bridge Festival in Parke County Indiana we visited several bridges. This one is The West Union Bridge and is the longest out of the 31 in the county. I decided to do a walk through of the bridge to show the interior construction. This bridge was built in 1876.

While at the Parke County Covered Bridge Festival we explored several of the bridges and this one has the longest span at 315 ft. The festival is a great event. Parke County Indiana has 31 covered bridges. That’s the largest concentration of coverage bridges anywhere.

Even though I arrived late to the game and missed the ceremony the Cardinals gave Adam Wainwright I got to see him bat for the last time. During a light rain that followed a very heavy rain like I hadn’t seen in years we climbed the main pyramid at the Xunantunich Mayan ruin site . I’ve posted several videos from this excursion.

Just minutes after the hardest rain that I’d seen in years we explored the pyramid at the Xunantunich Mayan ruins in Belize. It was on a Carnival cruise excursion so we were limited on time. I posted several videos though to give the viewer the layout.

We climbed to the top of a pyramid in the Xunantunich Mayan ruins in Belize. I had bits and pieces of footage so I decided to put most of it on here . We were on a Carnival cruise excursion so there wasn’t much time to explore and the massive amount of rain that we had just minutes before this cut the time even shorter.

While on a Carnival Cruise excursion we explored the Mayan ruins of Xunantunich in Belize. It rained hard for the first 10/15 minutes we were there so our already short time at the site was cut even shorter. I did what I could with the time I had .
