Yes, it's a very clever piece of kit. It's only on site for a little over 5 hours and takes a fair bit of time to set up before it does it's thing , and again to make it ready for the journey home on the network after it's done. The length of track replaced isn't huge, between 260 and 520 metres. Replacing the same track using conventional methods would require 4 or 5 trains though, rather than just this one.

Hi Peter, it’s been a while! Yeah, I got caught up in this Covid Trig Point Challenge. It’s gets me out the house though and makes a nice change from running. No squirrels left here I’m afraid, all killed off coz some folk prefer red to grey and seem happy to kill off one species in the belief or hope it’ll help the other. It’s all bollocks but I’ll leave it there. Boris is alive and kicking though. Although he’s not my cat, he pops in most days and sleeps over when I’m not working away from home. I get his company but don’t feed him or pay his vet bills so it really is the best of both worlds! I should get my new van soon, hires for the time being though. Hope you and yours are keeping well and hopefully we’ll be allowed to go a bit further afield before too long. You must be itching to get above 3000ft again! Take care Peter and stay safe!

I feed the squirrel nuts, he won't come to my door but I know when he gets him because he chitters loudly I figure that's either a "thank you!" or "hey, what is this, leaving this near my tree, now I have to clean it up"

Thanks, these are from Tata, I think the Liberty pipes are due to start in July.
Look's a job John, How long did the unloading take? My dad has been saying for years the railway is very under used for this kind of thing, Should be used more than heavy goods lorries.
It was a little under 7 hours this time but we need to stop to let passenger trains run through Georgemas Station. It'd be closer to 5 hours without the stoppages.
